Im gesamten Buch ist eine Fülle an Materialien und Studien eingearbeitet. Abgerundet wird dieser ausführliche, aber trotzdem übersichtliche Band durch ein Literaturverzeichnis, welches auch viele Online-Quellen enthält. "Preserving Digital Material" ist nicht für ausgewiesene Langzeitarchivierungsexperten konzipiert, sondern wendet sich an all jene, die sich mit der Digitalen Bibliothek beschäftigen und einen fundierten Einstieg in das Thema Langzeitarchivierung suchen."
