Abstract

Das Verhältnis zwischen Bibliotheken und neuen Medien wird seitens der Bibliotheken als eine Existenzbedrohung, manchmal als eine Integrationsaufgabe aufgefaßt. In diesem Beitrag wird für die Integration plädiert, ohne aber die Differenzen zwischen ihnen aufzuheben. Im ersten Teil werden einige Fakten über bestehende Integrationsformen dargelegt. Der zweite Teil behandelt 3 sich daraus ableitende Themen, nämlich: die Zukunft der Bibliotheken im Zeitalter ihrer technischen Reproduzierbarkeit, die Auswirkungen der Vernetzung auf die lokalen Aufgaben der Bibliotheken in der Demokratie
