- Dieser Katalog umfaßt 1,7 Millionen Karteikarten und verzeichnet das weltweit erschienene, deutschsprachige Schrifttum 1913-1945. Er versteht sich als "Gesamtarchiv des deutschsprachigen Schrifttums". Der Sachkatalog ist ein Gruppenschlagwortkatalog, der die Titel aller in der Deutschen Bibliothek vorhandenen Bücher, Broschüren, Zeitschriften und Hochschulschriften umfaßt. - Sprachliche Diskriminierungen bilden sich auf verschiedenen Ebenen im Schlagwortkatalog ab. In unterschiedlichen Ausprägungen finden wir sie sowohl in den Normdaten als auch in der Schlagwortfolge. Ziel des Aufsatzes ist es, die bibliothekarische Inhaltserschließung als soziale Praxis in einen theoretischen Bezugsrahmen einzubetten, um sie einer fundierten Kritik zugänglich zu machen.
