- Describes the latest trends in knowledge organization research. Provides a historical background covering the thesaurs period; the impact of Ranganathan's ideas and the foundation of the ISKO. Defines knowledge organization and explains its conceptual framework. Analyses current research from the Knowledge Literature supplement to Knowledge Organization covering automation and universal classification schemes; a universal thesaurus; new conceptual structures for knowledge organization; and the quality of indexing and cataloguing procedures. - Abstract
- Einführend Kurzdarstellung der gegenstandsbezogenen, analytischen Begriffstheorie und ihrer Implikationen beim Aufbau von Begriffs- und Definitionssystemen. Daraus ableitend folgen einige wissenschaftstheoretische Überlegungen zum Gegenstand der Sozialwissenschaften, ihrer Ausprägungen in einzelnen Wissensgebieten und deren Zusammenhang mit anderen Wissensgebieten sowie auch ihre entsprechenden Abgrenzungen. Anschließende Darstellung eines Versuchs, die Probleme der sozialwissenschaftlichen Sprachschöpfungen oder sprachlichen Übernahmen und deren Begriffe durch eine entsprechend vorgegebene Methodik zu bewältigen mit einem Hinweis auf die Möglichkeit, wie Begriffskultur in den Sozialwissenschaften zu verstehen und zu verwirklichen ist. Abschließend wird auf die Rolle, die in diesem Zusammenhang der ethische Aspekt einer Begriffskultur spielt, eingegangen
