    Abstract
    Immer häufiger werden das System 'Internet', die dort genutzten Programmfunktionen und Werkzeuge sowie die damit zugänglichen Informationsangebote in Fachdiskussionen und -veröffentlichungen vorgestellt. Als einführende Hilfsmittel und Ratgeber zur Information über dieses Netzwerk sowie zur eigentlichen Nutzung von Internet sind (neben in elektronischer Form vorliegenden Publikationen) mittlerweile mehrere einführende Printveröffentlichungen in englischer Sprache auf dem Markt. Drei dieser Publikationen werden im vorliegenden Artikel ausführlicher vorgestellt und bewertet. Zum besseren Verständnis des sachlichen Zusammenhangs ist der Rezension ein knapp gefaßter Überblick über die unter dem Begriff 'Internet' zusammengefaßten Funktionen und Informationsangebote vorangestellt.

    Abstract
    Electronic publishing will complicate the problem of national and international standards of bibliographic description. No agreement exists on the description of electronic documents, especially for those, which are published with little or no relation to the print concept ISO 10956 which is available as Committee Draft, seems a possible perspective but in spite of the diversification of document supply forms little explication is given in the draft to the system requirements for using the documents. Sets forth solutions to this problem
