- The 1st International CDS/ISIS congress was organizes by the Columbian Association of CDS/ISIS users in cooperation with the Unesco regional office in Caracas, Venezuela. Reviews the programme including a detailed description of the CDS/ISIS library automation system which has 16.000 registered users and which can be run under MS-DOS, VAS/VMS, UNIX/INTEL or Windows. Written in the C++ programming language the system's main features unclude: portability; maintainability; upward compatibility; and client-server architecture implementation. Presents the text of the conference resolution

- Abstract
- Information technology has brought with it the problem of protecting authors' rights related to copyrighted works on electronic media. Describes a new system of labelling copyrighted works on the Internet, called DOI, developed in the USA. At the presentation at the bookfair in Frankfurt, 250.000 works were leabelled with DOI. The system is universal and enables the inclusion of current standard identifiers (ISBN, ISSN, SICI). The fact that a DOI identifier stays 'glued on' forever, makes the identification of the carrier of copyright possible at any moment.
