- The Internet links computer networks worldwide through the TCP/IP; in addition to electronic mail; bulleton board and news group services, files can be downloaded using the standard protocol FTP. Services have evolved to identify and facilitate access to Internet resources, e.g. Telnet, Gopher, WAIS, etc. The WWW is the most developed, using hypertext links.
