    "Frankreichs Staatspräsident Nicolas Sarkozy lächelte unten in der ersten Reihe bemüht freundlich, als Steve Ballmer oben auf dem Podium seine Visionen von der nächsten digitalen Revolution präsentierte. Der Microsoft-Chef sprach zur Eröffnung der Computermesse Cebit davon, dass IT künftig überall und augenblicklich zugänglich sein wird. Er sprach von einer komplett vernetzten Welt, von Computern, die Gewohnheiten der Nutzer kennen und ihnen Informationen aus der Tiefe der Netze mundgerecht zur Verfügung stellen. Grundvoraussetzung dafür ist die Beschleunigung der Datenübertragung. Daran arbeitet die Telekom mit großem Eifer: VDSL heißt das neue Hochgeschwindigkeitsnetz. Nötig sind außerdem vor allem Browser, um die Tür ins Netz zu öffnen, und Suchmaschinen fürs Finden der richtigen Informationen. Kein Wunder, dass Microsoft den Suchmaschinenbetreiber Yahoo schlucken will. Und was hat das mit Sarkozy und anderen Politikern in Europa zu tun? Frankreichs Präsident ahnt, dass da was Unheimliches auf die Menschen zukommt. Sein verbaler Reflex: "Es darf kein rechtsfreier Raum entstehen, die Technik muss den Menschen dienen." Da hat er wohl recht. Die Gefahr ist groß, dass sich ökonomische und gesellschaftliche Macht in gefährlicher Weise zusammenballt. Man stelle sich nur eine Telegooglesoft vor, die Suchmaschinen, Software und Netze kontrolliert. Dieses Gebilde verfügte über sehr genaue Informationen der Nutzer, die für Werbung und fürs Verkaufen übers Internet mit bislang nicht gekannter Zielgenauigkeit eingesetzt - und zur Überwachung missbraucht - werden können. Der "große Bruder" in neuem Gewand.
