Abstract: Report of the ALCTS Copy Cataloging Discussion Group Meeting. Speakers from Colorado State University (CSU), Central Michigan University (CMU) and the University of Virginia (UVA) described changes in copy cataloguing operations in their libraries as a result of the impact of technology. CSU outsourcing and OCLC's PromptCat service were examined and compared to the library's existing workflow. PromptCat was rejected and changes to workflow were implemented. At CMU the Cataloguing Department at the main library was eventually eliminated and cataloguing work was outsourced to OCLC's TechPro service. At UVA cataloguing staff were re-graded and fastcat was implemented. The positive and negative consequences of these changes are discussed
