1Commerzbank Group setzt auf Verity K2 Enterprise.
In: Information - Wissenschaft und Praxis. 56(2005) H.5/6, S.277.

In: Dynamism and stability in knowledge organization: Proceedings of the 6th International ISKO-Conference, 10-13 July 2000, Toronto, Canada. Ed.: C. Beghtol et al. Würzburg : Ergon, 2000. S.41-47.
(Advances in knowledge organization; vol.7)
Abstract: Different Knowledge Management Software (KMS) suites approach information retrieval in different ways. Some of them have in-built knowledge structures, and some of those structures may be called a "thesaurus". But they are not thesauri as defined by the standard ISO 2788. This paper describes the types of knowledge structure which are provided for in the Verity search engine, namely "Thesaurus" and "Topics". An examination of how they are constructed shows strengths and weaknesses, and their potential to be applied to automatic categorization of search results. Unfortunately it is difficult to quantify the performance benefits of any of these knowledge structures, or even compare them with the benefits of using the traditional techniques of vocabulary control. However, the problems of retrieving information on many intranets has led some practitioners to apply simple vocabulary control to complement the functionality of their chosen KMS

In: Informatie professional. 2(1998) no.2, S.17-21.
Abstract: At Rotterdam Ports Authority in the Netherlands the Habour information database includes a press cuttings service and various online databases. To enable research staff to have direct access to information the POINT (Point Information Net) was begun in 1993. Using Verity software POINT provides simultaneously full text searching on a range of databases. The software uses current Web indexing technqiues to overcome the problems of excessive recall and low precision. A key element is the system's ability to recognise word combinations

In: Informatie professional. 2(1998) no.3, S.28-33.
Abstract: At Rotterdam Port Authority an information database has been created with approx. 100.000 full text documents online. Topic software has been used to identify word groups and refine search strategies to optimize precision and recall. The software guides users from selected terms to other relevant word combinations. Although the system would benefit from further refinement, users are generally satisfied. The database includes a number of foreign language documents but lacks a thesaurus of foreign terms

8Blake, P.: Leading edge : Verity keeps it in the family.
In: Information world review. 1997, no.122, S.15-16.
Abstract: Verity Search 97 software will index and search e-mail, attachments, folders and documents on local and network disk drives. The Internet may be searched via the same front end and changes to particular documents or pages may be monitored. Documents may be viewed in their native formats including ASCII, HTML, PDF and popular word processors, with highlighted search terms. Agents may be launched into the Internet to retrieve information according to a user-specified profile. The software can index about 700 MB an hour. Describes the search technology which includes fuzzy logic and natural language. The Web version of Personal Search 97 works with Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer, while the Exchange version will work regardless of any attachment to an Exchange server. Search 97 Personal improves online time and access time and allows searches to be refined offline

In: Information world review. 1997, no.129, S.28.
Abstract: Review of Verity Search '97, a search interface tool which allows users to post queires to PCs, hard discs, a network or even the Internet using familiar browser technology. It is useful for example in maintaining large files of incoming e-mail on a hard disc and retrieving the messages by author or text and then linking them with other files. Its full value can only be relaized as part of a larger installation such as Windows95; it is less valuable with systems tied to Windows 3.x

Abstract: Reviews developments and improvements in techniques for searching the WWW that have been made access to full text databases a practical proposition (full text retrieval (FTR)). Reports results of interviews with 8 full text database vendors offering FTR via the WWW: Dataware (http://www.dataware.com); Excalibur (http://www.excalib.com); Fulcrum (http://www.fulcrum.com); Muscat (http://www.muscat.co.uk); Open Text (http://www.opentext.com); Personal Library Software (PLS) (http://www.pls.com); Verity (http://www.verity.com); and ZyLab (ZyIndex and ZyImage) (http://www.zylab.com).
