Abstract

Weitverbreitet ist heutzutage die Forderung, daß die schulische Bildung Basiskompetenzen schaffen soll, die es den Schülerinnen und Schülern ermöglicht, später mit den multimedialen interaktiven Medienangeboten selbstverständlich umzugehen und sich in der hochtechnisierten Arbeitswelt zurechtzufinden. Ansonsten wäre bald nur die finanzstarke Minderheit der Bürgerinnen und Bürger mit privatem PC zu Hause imstande, die Datenautobahn kompetenz zu nutzen. Bis jetzt schafft es die Schule aber noch nicht einmal, den Schülerinnen und Schülern beizubringen, wie man einen Videorecorder programmiert. Die Lehrpläne aller Schularten werden den Veränderungen gesellschaftlicher Kommunikation im Arbeits- und Freizeitbereich innerhalb der letzten 10 Jahre kaum gerecht. Verschläft die Schule das Informationszeitalter?
