Abstract
Internetportale haben sich aus Suchmaschinen und Webkatalogen entwickelt. Mit dem Unternehmensportal ist die Konzeption auf den betrieblichen Kontext übertragen worden. Eine weitere Adaption für den Wissenschaftssektor zeichnet sich ab. Zu den Kernfunktionen der Portale gehören neben dem zentralen Einstieg, der Simplizität und der Leistungsfähigkeit der Suchwerkzeuge vor allem ein hohes Integrations- und Personalisierungspotential sowie Tools zur Kommunikation, Kollaboration und Validierung von Informationen. Mit diesen Leistungsmerkmalen sind Portale prädestiniert, zu den Marktplätzen des E-Commerce sowohl für Endverbraucher- als auch für Wertschöpfungsketten zu werden.
