Abstract
Ab dem Jahr 2007 steht "Das Schweizer Buch", die Schweizerische Nationalbibliografie, auf zwei Arten elektronisch zur Verfügung: in der dynamischen Online-Version mit erweiterten Recherchemöglichkeiten abfragbar über den Bibliothekskatalog Helveticat, Inbetriebnahme Januar 2006, sowie in der statischen PDF-Ausgabe, Inbetriebnahme Januar 20074. Der Zugriff auf die elektronischen Versionen ist passwortfrei und kostenlos. Die Druckausgabe der Nationalbibliografie wurde nach 106 Jahrgängen unter der Redaktion der Nationalbibliothek (NB) eingestellt. Die seit 1943 bestehende Namensgebung der Nationalbibliografie "Das Schweizer Buch = Le Livre suisse = Il libro svizzero" bleibt sowohl für die dynamische als auch für die statische Ausgabe erhalten. Ab 2001 erscheint das Schweizer Buch in fünf Sprachen, die hinzukommenden Paralleltitel lauten: "Il cudesch svizzer = The Swiss book". Nebst der seit 1901 ausgeführten redaktionellen Betreuung wurde die NB ab 2001 auch die Herausgeberin des Schweizer Buchs. Von 1943 bis 2001 hatte der SBVV, der Schweizerische Buchhändler- und Verleger-Verband, die Funktion des Verlegers der Nationalbibliografie inne. Die NB verfolgt eine landeskundliche und territoriale Konzeption ihrer Bibliografie, eine Aufgabe, die bundesrechtlich verankert ist: "Die Nationalbibliothek hat zur Aufgabe, gedruckte oder auf anderen Informationsträgern gespeicherte Informationen, die einen Bezug zur Schweiz haben, zu sammeln, zu erschließen, zu erhalten und zu vermitteln. Dazu gehört auch die schweizerische Buchproduktion oder, heutig ausgedrückt, die gesamte schweizerische Medienproduktion.
