Abstract
Überblick über die Datennetze im Forschungszentrum Jülich. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei der Zusammenhang zwischen den speziellen Anforderungen und Anwendungen eines zentralen Informationsdienstleisters (Zentralbibliothek) und der daraus resultierenden Gestaltung und Strukturierung der Datennetze. Es wird gezeigt, daß die zukünftige Netzlast der Informationsgesellschaft im Zeitalter von Multimedia nur mit modernster Lichtwellenleitertechnik zu bewältigen ist
