Abstract

Explores some of the problems encountered in the use of the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme with special reference to the class 200 (Religion) schedules in the monastic library of the Carmelite Priory at Aylesford, Kent. Describes some of the ways in which it has been adapted to deal with them.
