Abstract

The CDS/ISIS database management system is used by at least 1.500 different libraries in India and is also the key software in the INFLIBNET project. Points to the lack of suitable internal security to protect its own prepared database against possible disastrous conditions such as power failure during operation, the database exceeding the capacity of storage facilities, or overall data security. Concludes that the package badly requires control handles and checks on the operations and suggests certain remedial measures
