Abstract
Die Studienreise in die USA wurde vom 30.8.-17.9.1998 durchgeführt und auf Antrag der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek von der DFG finanziert. Dabei standen 4 sachliche Schwerpunkte im Vordergrund: (1) elektronische Bibliotheken (2) Digitalisierungsprojekte (3) Copyright elektronischer Dokumente (4) innovative technische Entwicklungen in den vorgenannten Bereichen. Im Laufe der Reise kamen als weiterer Themenschwerpunkt die Beziehungen zwischen Informationstechnologie und Bibliothek in den Universitäten sowie deren organisatorische Verflechtung hinzu. Teil 1 umfaßt Querschnittsberichte; Teil 2 enthält Ortsberichte über 19 besuchte Institutionen
