Abstract

In a previous article in this journal ("Classification of Materials on the Bahá,'í Religion: Expansion of Library of Congress BP300-395," 8(2) 1987/88: 99-133) the author outlined the process of developing a classification system for Bahá'í materials at the Bahá'í World Centre Library in Haifa, Israel. Although the Bahá'í World Centre Library chose to use the system based upon the Library of Congress, one of the steps in the process was outlining of a scheme based upon the Dewey Decimal Classification. The author, former Director of the Bahá'í Library, has refined the "B200" Dewey-based classification, and offers it here as an example of a specialized development similar to that of the Utah Library Association's M200 scheduele for Mormonism. Bahá'í libraries around the world that are more familiar with the Dewey Classification will find this particular development very useful to their own work.
