Abstract

Der Beitrag stellt die Probleme dar, die aus der Transformation der DFG-Sondersammelgebiete in Fachinformationsdienste resultieren. Der Aufsatz, der das in diesem Kontext gezeichnete Bild des SSG-Systems unter einigen Aspekten korrigiert und aufzeigt, dass wesentliche Elemente des FID-Systems bereits lange Kontinuitäten zu älteren Förderkonzepten der DFG aufweisen, setzt sich kritisch mit dem Paradigmenwechsel vom umfassenden vorsorgenden Bestandsaufbau zum selektiven Bestandsaufbau und den Konsequenzen einer strikten »E-Only-Policy« in der gegenwärtigen Phase auseinander. Er entlarvt die Legitimation des Paradigmenwechsels aus der maßgeblichen Mitgestaltung der Fachcommunity beim Bestandsaufbau als Fiktion. Der Prozess des kurzwegigen Übergangs in ein neues Diensteparadigma deutet darauf hin, dass das Verständnis für die größeren Zusammenhänge einer nachhaltigen, stabilen und verlässlichen Literaturversorgung auf Spitzenniveau abhanden gekommen ist.
