Abstract

Describes the experience of Westminster Reference Library's fee based information services focusing on the pitfalls and lessons learnt since it commenced operation. These include: the need to sell actively by applying marketing and sales promotion techniques to the business; and the realization that a fee based service is not a one person job; and that it takes time to break even, let alone make a profit
