Abstract

Presents an overview of the PICA network and systems in the Netherlands, and follows this with an account of map cataloguing using the PICA Central Database. Lists the tags which have been added to the PICA format to cater for descriptions of maps, and notes other special facilities which have been created for map series. Describes the ways in which the catalogue can be searched by staff, and the thesauri and authority files which are available. Separately describes the facilities of the PICA OPAC
