- Abstract
- Unter Beteiligung mehrerer Nationalbibliotheken wurde auf dem 7. Dublin Core Workshop eine neue Dublin Core-Arbeitsgruppe 'DC Authorities' ins Leben gerufen. Sie soll in einem ersten Schritt einen Vorschlag für ein DC Metadaten Element Set zur Beschreibung von Personen vorlegen, das auch als Core Set für Personen-Normdaten geeignet ist. Im Januar 2000 wird der Aufruf, sich an der Arbeitsgruppe zu beteiligen, durch die DC-Mailingliste 'DC General' verbreitet werden

- Abstract
- Eines der Hauptprobleme beim Nachweis und Retrieval von Internetressourcen besteht in der Schwierigkeit, sie eindeutig zu identifizieren, zu authentifizieren und nachaltig zu adressieren - kurz gesagt: im Fehlen von Persistent Identifiern. Die URLs, die Standortangaben im Internet, die als Zugriffs-Signaturen dienen, stellen sich häufig als unzuverlässige Adressen heraus. Entfällt eine URL, ist die Ressource ganz wie ein verstelltes Buch nicht mehr auffindbar und damit für die Nutzung verloren. Selbst wenn das Dokument unter anderer Anschrift weiter existieren sollte, ohne Kenntnis der neuen Adresse ist ein Zugriff unmöglich. So sind andere, persistente Identifier notwendig, um schnell, zuverlässig, sicher und dauerhaft den weltweiten Zugriff auf die Ressourcen zu regeln

Juli 2004 in Der Deutschen Bibliothek mit der Zielsetzung: Die Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) haben seit ihrer Veröffentlichung 1998 durch die IFLA die bibliothekarische Diskussion befruchtet. Was verbirgt sich hinter den FRBR? Welche Auswirkungen hat dieses Modell, das Beziehungen zwischen Entitäten darstellt, auf Regelwerke, Normdateien, Formate, Online-Kataloge und andere Bereiche?
