    Verlagsmitteilung: "Lorenz befaßt sich mit grundsätzlichen Fragestellungen und Lösungsansätzen. Derartige Hinführungen sind im deutschsprachigen Bereich noch selten. Zielgruppe sind neben an der Thematik Interessierten vor allem Studierende. Das Werk enthält eine Auswahl langjähriger Ausbildungsthemen und ist in folgende Abschnitte gegliedert: Grundsätzliches zu Sacherschließung und Klassifikatorischer Sacherschließung / Die Regensburger Verbundklassifikation (RVK) / Weitere Beispiele für Klassifikationen / Bedeutung und Entwicklung Klassifikatorischer Sacherschließung. Die RVK, die in den wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken Deutschlands am weitesten verbreitete Klassifikation, wird unter Berücksichtigung zahlreicher Klassifikationsvergleiche beispielhaft behandelt.
