    Abstract
    Der Informationsraum, in dem wir leben, ist so komplex geworden, daß wir ohne die Nutzung externer Kompetenz nicht mehr auskommen können. Informationsarbeit - das heißt: produktive Erschließung des verfügbaren Informationsraumes als der Grundlage, auf der wir unser Leben in all seinen professionellen, öffentlichen und privaten Belangen informationell abgesichert bestreiten können - wird zunehmend an Informationsassistenten delegiert; seit langem schon an Informationsspezialisten, speziell dafür ausgebildeten Personen, wie es harmlos und hilfreich einmal mit Bibliothekaren angefangen hat, und zunehmend mehr an technische Informationsassistenten, Informationsmaschinen, die, von uns Menschen konzipiert und programmiert, sich den Zauberlehrlingen gleich immer mehr verselbständigen.
