    Abstract
    Der Vortrag berichtet über die Fertigstellung des maschinenlesbaren Master Reference File der UDK und zeigt, wie er zusammengestellt wurde. Die als Quelle benutzte Ausgaben werden vorgestellt, insbesondere die Internationale Mittlere Ausgabe in Englisch und Französisch, die neuen Abschnitte für Physikalische Chemie und für Sprachen, die in den 'Extensions and corrections to the UDC 14(1992)' veröffentlicht wurden, werden dargestellt und Pläne für die weitere Entwicklung der Systematik auf einer konsequenten facettierten Grundlage entwickelt.     Abstract
    Die diesjährige Öffentliche Sitzung der AG Dezimalklassifikationen fand erstmalig nicht im Rahmen der Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Klassifikation (GfK1) statt, sondern wurde auf den 20. März 2000 nach Leipzig, dem Tagungsort des Bibliothekskongresses, verlegt, wo sie regen Zuspruch fand. In 4 Vorträgen wurde über den Einsatz von Dezimalklassifikationen (UDC, DDC) in Bibliothekssystemen und internet-basierten Fachinformationssystemen berichtet und Vorschläge zu einer Konkordanz zwischen UDC und DDC dargestellt. Dr. Horst Hogh (Slowakische Nationalbibliothek Martin) gab einen Überblick über die Anwendung der UDC sowohl in slowakischen Bibliotheken als auch in der slowakischen Nationalbibliographie und in Verbundkatalogen. Die Anwendung der UDC hat in der Slowakei eine lange Tradition, bereits seit 1947 wird mit diesem Klassifikationssystem gearbeitet. Gegenwärtig benutzen ca. 80% der slowakischen Bibliotheken (wissenschaftliche und Öffentliche) und Informationszentren dieses Klassifikationssystem. Auf Grund der breiten Anwendung wurde der Master Reference File, die derzeitig gültige Version der UDC, in die slowakische Sprache übersetzt und als CD-ROM-Ausgabe vorbereitet. Für das geplante Projekt einer multilingualen Fassung (englisch, deutsch, slowakisch, ungarisch) des Master Reference File sucht die Slowakische Nationalbibliothek Partner aus EU-Mitgliedsstaaten. Andreas Stumm (Universitätsbibliothek Freiberg) stellte das Fachinformationssystem für Geowissenschaften Geo-Guide <http://www.Geo-Guide.de> vor. Der Geo-Guide ist ein Gateway für wissenschaftliche Internetressourcen aus den Fachgebieten Geowissenschaften, Bergbau, Geographie und thematische Karten. Die Geo-Guide Datenbank erschließt weltweit recherchierte Fachinformationen, z.B. Literaturdatenbanken, Informationsseiten von Forschungseinrichtungen u.a. Jede Ressource ist nach dem Dublin-Core-Standard erschlossen, u. a. durch mehrere Klassifikationssysteme (GOK, DDC, BK), als weitere Klassifikation wird die UDC eingearbeitet. Esther Scheven (DDB Frankfurt/Main) berichtete über den aktuellen Stand der DDC-Diskussion im deutschsprachigen Raum und stellte die Pläne der Deutschen Bibliothek über die Übersetzung der DDC, die von der Arbeitsgruppe Klassifikatorische Erschließung als geeignete Klassifikation für die Deutsche Bibliothek und die Deutsche Nationalbibliographie vorgeschlagen wurde, in die deutsche Sprache vor, die damit verbundene Adaption an deutsche Erfordernisse, Prognosen über den Aufwand für eine deutsche DDC-Ausgabe und vorgesehene Konkordanzen zu anderen Klassifikationen (Regensburger Verbundklassifikation, Niederländische Basisklassifikation, Gesamthochschulbibliothek-Systematik, Klassifikationen Öffentlicher Bibliotheken). In diesem Zusammenhang wurde von Seiten der anwesenden UDC-Anwender die Empfehlung ausgesprochen, auch die UDC, ein zur DDC gleichrangiges internationales Klassifikationssystem, in die Konkordanz einzubeziehen, damit auch auf die mit UDC erschlossenen umfangreichen Datenbestände in Verbundkatalogen über Konkordanzen zugegriffen werden kann.Die AG Dezimalklassifikationen wird dieses Anliegen ebenfalls beim UDCConsortium (Den Haag) vorbringen, falls im nationalen Rahmen die Integration der UDC nicht möglich ist. Prof. Dr. Gerhard Rahmstorf (Heidelberg) erläuterte ein Projekt für eine Konkordanz zwischen UDC und DIDC, die mit einem Bezugssystem erstellt werden könnte.     Abstract
    In dieser Untersuchung wurden zwei Systeme eingesetzt, um MWT aus einer Dokumentkollektion mit fachsprachlichem Bezug (Volltexte des ACL Anthology Reference Corpus) automatisch zu extrahieren. Das thematische Spektrum umfasste alle Bereiche der natürlichen Sprachverarbeitung, im Speziellen die CL als interdisziplinäre Wissenschaft. Ziel war es MWT zu extrahieren, die als potentielle Indexterme im IR Verwendung finden können.     Abstract
    The effectivity of bibliographic data depends upon clearly defined standards, prompt publication and a range of possible users. The Deutsche Bibiothek has converted data into UNIMARC for national exchange purposes. The keyword standard file of over 260.000 heading and reference forms is available on magnetic tape and microfiche. A central data file on corporate bodies, produced by the Deutsche Bibliotheksinstitut is also available. From 1989 the amount of information in topical index entries may be reduced. Further changes planned include more precise definition of collection guidelines, new operational forms for floppy disc and CD-ROM and selective bibliographic services for particular publication forms and types of library.

    Abstract
    Immer mehr Informationsobjekte werden in digitaler Form publiziert. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die Auswirkungen der Digitalisierung auf bibliothekarische Erschließungsmethoden dargestellt: einerseits die Funktion der Auszeichnungssprachen SGML, HTML und XML als Erschließungsinstrumente, andererseits der von bibliothekarischer Seite entwickelte Metadatenstandard Dublin Core. Am Praxisbeispiel "Dokumentenmanagement einer Nichtregierungsorganisation" wird untersucht, ob die Erschließung verbessert werden könnte durch z.B. Optimierung der Volltextindizierung, standardisierte Metadaten oder Integration von Metadaten und Suchmaschinentechnologie. Mithilfe einer Benutzerbefragung werden diese Ansätze an der Praxis gemessen und konkrete Empfehlungen entwickelt.
