- Lange Zeit galt die Geschichtswissenschaft gegenüber der neuen digitalen Medienwelt alles andere als aufgeschlossen. Das Bild des in verstaubten Akten und alten Büchern blätternden Historikers ist heute jedoch nur noch ein Vorurteil und die in Anlehnung an Nietzsche gestellte Frage nach dem »Nutzen und Nachteil des Internets für den Historiker» muss inzwischen eindeutig zugunsten des Internets beantwortet werden. Das am besten angenommene Onlineangebot der Geschichtswissenschaft stellen dabei Rezensionsjournale dar. Ziel der folgenden Ausführungen ist es, einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Rezensionsjournale zu geben, nämlich >sehepunkte< und die Rezensionsabteilung von H-Soz-u-Kult, die auch als >Historische Literatur» in Hybridform erscheint, sowie die Rezensionssuchmaschine von Clio-online.

- Abstract
- Strategische Studien bei technologisch führenden US-Bibliotheken haben gezeigt, daß die zwischenbetriebliche Integration zwischen Buchhandel und Bibliotheken ein Automatisierungsvorhaben der 90er Jahre sein könnte, das in der Lage wäre, hohe betrieblich Nutzeffekte und Srategiebeiträge zu den kritischen Erfolgsfaktoren der Bibliotheken zu liefern. Andere nationale CIP-Programme folgten bald, darunter bereits 1974 der CIP-Dienst Der Deutschen Bibliothek sowie ein Vorläufer des kanadischen CIP-Dienstes, der offiziell zwei Jahre später aufgenommen wurde, und 1975 der CIP-Dienst der British Library. Die aus bibliothekarischer Sicht wichtigsten Funktionen des CIP-Dienstes waren - die Erwerbungsgrundlage durch möglichst frühzeitige Information über Neuerscheinungen und Neuausgaben sowie - die Katalogisierungsgrundlage (auch mittels des Eindrucks der CIP-Titelaufnahme im Buch). Die Basis des Verfahrens waren bis zuletzt die Titelmeldungen der Verleger auf einem gemeinsamen VLB-CIP-Formular (in den letzten Jahren auch in elektronischer Form) sowie die sog. Titeleien (Kopien der Titelseiten und dgl.), die im Prinzip mindestens vier Wochen vor dem Erscheinungstermin in der CIP-Stelle eingegangen sein mussten.

- Abstract
- Am Hochschulbibliothekszentrum des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (hbz) wird seit Anfang 2014 nach Vorgaben und unter Begutachtung der Universitäts- und Landesbibliotheken in Düsseldorf, Münster und Bonn ein neuer Webauftritt für die Landesbibliographie Nordrhein-Westfalens, die Nordrhein-Westfälische Bibliographie (NWBib) entwickelt. Die Entwicklung basiert auf der Web-Schnittstelle des Linked-Open-Data-Dienst lobid und wird vollständig mit Open-Source-Software entwickelt. Aus der Perspektive des Entwicklungsteams am hbz beschreibt der Artikel Kontext und Durchführung des Projekts. Der Beitrag skizziert die historische Entwicklung der NWBib mit Fokus auf die Beziehung der Bibliographie zum World Wide Web (WWW), erläutert die Voraussetzungen für die Neuentwicklung sowie die Leitlinien des Entwicklungsprozesses, gibt einen Überblick über die Nutzung des neuen Webauftritts und die zur Umsetzung verwendete Technologie. Abgeschlossen wir der Artikel mit Lessons-Learned und einem Ausblick auf weitere Entwicklungen.

- Abstract
- Die bibliographische Erschließung von deutschen Drucken des 16. Jahrhunderts wurde von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft von 1969 bis 1999 gefördert. Seit 2000 wird das Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachbereich erschienenen Drucke des 16. Jahrhunderts (VD 16) von der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek kontinuierlich fortgeführt: durch Einarbeiten neuer Titel verschiedener Bibliotheken und Initiativen, durch Aufbau, Entwicklung und Optimierung der EDV-Struktur und wieder mit DFG-Förderung durch gezielte Digitalisierung, derzeit der Drucke der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek mit Erscheinungsjahren 1501-1517. Im April 2006 wurde die Migration des seit Konversion des gedruckten Grundwerks 2003/2004 vollständig maschinenlesbar vorliegenden VD 16 in ein ALEPH-System abgeschlossen. Für den Benutzer steht das VD 16 im Gateway Bayern eingebunden in das Portal und als eigene Datenbank zur Verfügung.

- Abstract
- Die deutschen nationalbibliographische Datenbank Biblio-Data wird in Teil A mit ihren Grundlagen vorgestellt. Biblio-Data basiert auf dem Information-Retrieval-System STAIRS von IBM, das durch Zusatzprogramme der ZMD verbessert wurde. Das Hauptgewicht dieses Beitrags liegt auf der Erörterung des Biblio-Data-Konzepts, nach dem die Daten der Deutschen Bibliographie retrievalgerecht aufbereitet und eingegeben werden. Auf Eigenarten, Probleme und Mängel, die daraus entstehen, dass Biblio-Data auf nationalbibliographischen Daten aufbaut, wird ausführlich eingegangen. Zwei weitere Beiträge zeigen an einigen Beispielen die vielfältigen Suchmöglichkeiten mit Biblio-Data, um zu verdeutlichen, dass damit nicht nur viel schenellere, sondern auch bessere Recherchen ausgeführt werden können. Teil B weist nach, dass Biblio-Data weder die Innhaltsanalyse noch die Zuordnung von schlagwörtern automatisieren kann. Im derzeitigen Einsatzstadium fällt Biblio-Data die Aufgabe zu, die weiterhin knventionall-intellektuell auszuführende Sacherschließung durch retrospektive Recherchen, insbesonderr durch den wesentlich erleichterten Zugriff auf frühere Indexierungsergebnisse, zu unterstützen. Teil C schildert die praktische Arbeit mit Biblio-Data bei bibliographischen Ermittlungen und Literaturzusammenstellunen und kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass effektive und bibliographische Arbeit aus der sinnvollen Kombination von Datenbank-Retrieval und konventioneller Suche bestehet.

- "Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek erweitert ab Juli 2011 ihre Kataloganreicherung um Inhaltsverzeichnisse der Veröffentlichungen außerhalb des Verlagsbuchhandels (Reihe B der Deutschen Nationalbibliografie). Der seit dem Jahr 2008 für die Reihe A der Deutschen Nationalbibliografie angebotene Dienst wird damit auf den monografischen Neuzugang und auf Zeitschriftenstücktitel der Reihe B erweitert. Inhaltsverzeichnisse werden im Rahmen der Kataloganreicherung als durchsuch-bare PDF-Objekte zu den Titeldaten angeboten und können in Recherchen einbezogen werden. Suchergebnisse werden dadurch umfangreicher und können besser bewertet werden. Über die Datendienste der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek sind die Inhaltsverzeichnisse ebenfalls erhältlich. Bis Jahresende sollen allein in der Reihe B rund 10.000 Inhaltsverzeichnisse zusätzlich zur Verfügung stehen. Zurzeit sind mehr als 606.000 Inhaltsverzeichnisse mit Katalogeinträgen verbunden. 213.000 Inhaltsverzeichnisse der Zugangsjahre 2008 bis Mitte 2011 werden durch rund 124.000 Inhaltsverzeichnisse der Zugangsjahre 1913 bis 1922 ergänzt. 269.000 Inhaltsverzeichnisse wurden von Bibliotheksverbünden übernommen. Weitere Verbünde werden im Laufe des Jahres folgen. Das Projekt zur retrospektiven Kataloganreicherung wird derzeit mit den Monografien der Zugangsjahre ab 1983 fortgesetzt."

- Abstract
- Hintergrund Seit 1993 bietet die Saarländische Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek (SULB) den Angehörigen der Universität des Saarlandes (UdS) die Möglichkeit, wissenschaftliche Publikationen in einer Online-Jahresbibliographie zu verzeichnen. Schon seit dem Jahr 1968 existierte eine gedruckte Fassung der Jahresbibliographie, die Veröffentlichungen der Angehörigen der Universität des Saarlandes, seit 1973 auch die der anderen Hochschulen des Saarlandes, verzeichnete. Als Printausgabe erschien sie zuletzt im Jahr 2000. Die alte Online-Version beinhaltet die Titel ab dem Berichtsjahr 1993 sowie Nachträge aus früheren Jahren. Mit Beginn des Jahres 2006 wurde bei der SULB als Betreiberin der Jahresbibliographie ein deutlicher Schnitt gemacht: Das bewährte alte, auf hierarchischer HTML-Navigation basierende System, das in den Jahren 1993 bis 2005 zirka 100.000 Titelmeldungen aufnahm, wurde durch ein flexibleres, datenbankgestütztes System ersetzt, das es in Zukunft erleichtern wird, die Jahresbibliographie als Instrument der Evaluierung heranzuziehen. Seit November 2000 bietet die SULB den Wissenschaftlern der UdS auch die Möglichkeit, wissenschaftliche Publikationen als Volltext entgeltfrei auf dem Institutional Repository SciDok Open Access konform zur Verfügung zu stellen. SciDok und auch PsyDok, das Disciplinary Repository der SULB für die Psychologie-Community, werden mit der an der Universität Stuttgart entwickelten Software OPUS betrieben. Seit Januar 2006 wird nun auch die Jahresbibliographie der UdS mit OPUS betrieben.

- Abstract
- Das in dieser Zeitschrift bereits vorgestellte Multisuchsystem E-Connect hat mittlerweile einige äußere und innere Anderungen und Erweiterungen erfahren. Abbildung 1 zeigt das Suchformular für die Suche in mehreren allgemeinen Aufsatz- und Verlagsdatenbanken. Ein entsprechendes Suchformular für die Suche nach Zeitschriftenaufsätzen mehrerer bzw. einzelner Fachgebiete ist ähnlich aufgebaut und enthält u. a. den vereinfachten Zugang zu dem fachlich den gesamten STIVI-Bereich umfassenden EnergyPortal Search und zu weiteren Datenbanken von elektronischen Aufsätzen, Reports und Preprints. Von der Startseite aus kann man jetzt auch über eine Suchmaschine sowohl die im Multisuchsystem als auch die in den Bibliographischen Datenbanken im Internet enthaltenen etwa 160 Datenbanken suchen und anwählen. Damit ist eine Art von digitaler Bibliothek entstanden, die vor allem elektronisch verfügbare Dokumente erschließt
