Wenn Sie die elektronische Fassung online benutzen, können Sie von den einzelnen Artikeln über Hyperlinks zu Seiten im World Wide Web gelangen, die noch mehr Informationen zum jeweiligen Zukunftsbegriff enthalten. Bei der elektronischen Ausgabe des Wissensnavigators, die auch im Internet zugänglich ist handelt es sich um eine "lebende" Anwendung, die sich gerade auch durch die Mitwirkung der Nutzer weiterentwickelt. Sie sind herzlich eingeladen, zum Teilnehmer dieses Evolutionsprozesses zu werden - etwa, indem Sie neue Begriffe vorschlagen, die aufgenommen werden sollen, oder Experten benennen, die zur Bearbeitung neuer Begriffe in Frage kommen, oder auch sich selbst als Experte zu erkennen geben.     Reports a survey of all academic members of the Association of Research Libraries in the 4th quarter of 1997 which examined how academic libraries incorporate electronic information sources into their reference activities and the effects on libraries services. There was a response rate of 68 per cent, Compares results surveys carried out in 1991 and 1994. The survey covered: numbers of computers access options (intermediary, end user online, CD-ROM locally loaded databases or those accessible through the library catalogue and the Internet. There is a trend away from print resources, particularly indexing and abstracting materials, and away from CD-ROM LANs and local loading of databases towards remote online resources

    Abstract
    Beitrag ist die komprimierte Überarbeitung von Seminarunterlagen für eine im September 1993 geplante, wegen einer plötzlichen Erkrankung des Co-Referenten leider abgesetzte Fortbildungsveranstaltung von AKRIBIE. Themen sind die (umfangreichen) Benutzerkomponenten, die Datex-J zur Verfügung stellt und von denen die dargestellten Auskunfts- und Informationssysteme lediglich einen schmalen Ausschnitt der Leistungsfähigkeit dieses Dienstes darstellen. Gezeigt wird, wie die aufliegenden Informationen strukturiert sind, wie man bestimmte Grundfunktionen anwählt oder welche Seitennummern in der Dialogführung besonders wichtig sind. Aus dem äußerst heterogenen und nicht leicht durchschaubaren Angebot illustrieren wir Ihnen dann aus verschiedenen Sachbereichen einige exemplarische und aktuelle Informations-beispiele dieses elektronischen Mediums.     Abstract
    The large number and variety of online databases in the field of environment sciences and chemistry underlies the need for a cooperative evaluation approach. Presents 2 evaluation criteria, divided into 4 headings; general criteria (size of data source, cost of 1 hour searching, updating of database, availability on other media); chemical relevant criteria (number of chemicals, identification parameters of chemicals, test set chemicals, development of chemicals), environmental relevant criteria (information parameters for chemicals, parameter development); and criteria describing environmental chemicals (use of chemicals, quality of database). A 6 number scoring system is applied to these criteria and the Hasse diagram technique is presented for 19 bibliographic online databases using these criteria. Using this technique, 'good' and 'bad' databases are identified and changes in the database content from 1995 to 1998 can be visualized
