- "Die Deutsche Bibliothek hat die 3. RSWK-Ergänzungslieferung zur 3. Auflage der »Regeln für den Schlagwortkatalog (RSWK)« veröffentlicht - zum ersten Mal auch in elektronischer Form: www.ddb.de/produkte/publ elektron.htm <urn: nbn:de:1111-2004072169> http://nbn-resolving.de/urn/resolver.pl?urn=urn:nbn:de:11112004072169. Die Ergänzungslieferung enthält unter anderem Änderungen an § 8,2 (hier wurde die Priorisierung der Individualnamen zu Ungunsten der Allgemeinbegriffe aufgehoben), § 12,8 (Wegfall der Pauschalverweisungen), § 701 (durch eine neue Darstellung der Hinweissätze sind auch die Mundarten betroffen) sowie § 730 (Bauwerke). Nach einem im Sommer 2004 durchgeführten öffentlichen Stellungnahmeverfahren, für das die vorgesehenen Entwürfe auf dem FTP-Server Der Deutschen Bibliothek zur Verfügung standen, und einer Beratung in der Expertengruppe RSWK/SWD hat der Standardisierungsausschuss die 3. RSWK-Ergänzungslieferung mit den genannten Neuregelungen genehmigt. Die Papierausgabe der 3. - Abstract
- Am 1. Juli 1998 beginnt Die Deutsche Bibliothek im Vorgriff auf die Novellierung des neuen Gesetzes mit der Sammlung von Netzpublikationen. In den ersten Monaten werden vor allem Dissertationen und Habilitationen sowie die Veröffentlichungen einiger freiwilliger Verlage gesammelt. Die Ablieferung der Publikationen muß in einem der von Der Deutschen Bibliothek bevorzugten Dateiformate erfolgen. Die Formalerschließung erfolgt auf der Grundlage von RAK-NBM im PICA-ILTIS-Format; die inhaltliche Erschließung auf der Grundlage der RSWK, 3. Aufl.

- Abstract
- Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek hat im März 2007 die 4. RSWK-Ergänzungslieferung zur 3. Auflage der "Regeln für den Schlagwortkatalog (RSWK)" veröffentlicht. Die Ergänzungslieferung steht in elektronischer Form kostenfrei zur Verfügung <http://www.d-nb.de/standardisierung/regelwerke/afs_dok_reg_entw.htm> <urn:nbn:de:1111-20040721213> http://nbn-resolving.de/urn/resolver.pl?urn=urn:nbn:de:1111-20040721213. Die Ergänzungslieferung enthält u.a. Änderungen an § 18,3 (hier wurde der Schwerpunkt der Vergabe von Sprachencodes auf Werke bestimmter Wissensgebiete verschoben), § 405,3 (Ergänzung der als Sachschlagwort zu behandelnden Geschichtskomposita um 'Formgeschichte') sowie diverse redaktionelle Korrekturen (u.a. Anpassung von Text und Beispielen an Regelwerksänderungen, die in der 3. Ergänzungslieferung 2005 der RSWK veröffentlicht wurden, und Verbesserung von Schreibfehlern). Die Expertengruppe RSWK/SWD hat die Änderungen an den RSWK auf ihrer Sitzung am 10. Mai 2006 beschlossen und anschließend dem Standardisierungsausschuss vorgelegt. Der Standardisierungsausschuss hat in einem Umlaufverfahren im Februar 2007 einer Veröffentlichung und Inkraftsetzung zugestimmt. Sie können die Papierausgabe der 4. Ergänzungslieferung 2007 zur 3. - Abstract
- Die deutsche Bibliothek in Frankfurt bietet seit einigen Jahren zentrale Dienste im Bereich der verbalen Sacherschließung an, Um deren Akzeptanz zu verbessern, will die Deutsche Bibliothek ab 1986 von der augenblicklichen gleichordnenden Indexierung zu einem syntaktischen Verfahren übergehen. Als Alternativen standen die RSWK und eine verkürzte Version des britischen Indexierungsverfahrens PRECIS zur Diskussion. Die Anforderungen einer Fachwissenschaft an die Schlagwort-Syntax einer adäquaten Dokumentationssprache werden exemplarisch entwickelt, die vier Alternativen - augenblickliche verbale Sacherschließunf der DB, RSWK, PRECIS (britische Version) und Kurz-PRECIS (DB-Version) - an ihnen gemessen. Die Kriterien basiern auf Grammatiktheorien der modernen Linguistik und gehen von einer Analogie zwischen Dokumentationssprachen und natürlicher Sprache aus.

- "Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek hat die 6. RSWK-Ergänzungslieferung zur 3., überarbeiteten und erweiterten Auflage der "Regeln für den Schlagwortkatalog (RSWK)" veröffentlicht. Diese Ergänzungslieferung steht in elektronischer Form kostenfrei zur Verfügung <http://www.d-nb.de/standard isierung/regelwerke/afs_dok_reg_entw.htm> <http://www.d-nb.de/standardisierung/pdf/rswk_erg_6.pdf> <http://nbn-resolving.de/urn/resolver.pl?urn=urn:nbn:de:101-2009120709> Die Ergänzungslieferung enthält insbesondere Änderungen an den Grundregeln in den §§ 13-15, die auf Ergebnisse der Arbeitsgruppe Strategie der Sacherschließung zurückgehen. Die Benennung "Schlagwortkette" wurde durch "Schlagwortfolge" ersetzt, um die Assoziation einer festen Verknüpfung von Schlagwörtern zu vermeiden. § 13 legt fest, wann eine oder mehrere Schlagwortfolgen gebildet werden und vereinheitlicht die bisher gehandhabte Anwendung der RSWK.
§ 14 regelt die Anordnung der Schlagwörter in einer Schlagwortfolge. Sie wurde auf eine formale Reihenfolge vereinfacht; bei Zusammentreffen von mehreren Schlagwörtern der gleichen Kategorie soll eine sinnvolle Reihenfolge gewählt werden. § 15 macht grundsätzliche Aussagen zur Anzeige und zum Retrieval von Schlagwortfolgen. Außerdem wurde § 106 dahingehend geändert, dass in Zukunft der Homonymenzusatz bei Personen nur eine der SWD zu entnehmende Bezeichnung sein soll; die Unterscheidung von engen und weiten Berufsbezeichnungen mit einer zugelassenen Liste wird aufgegeben. In § 731 wird hinsichtlich der Kirchenbauten präzisiert, welche Bezeichnungen als Individualnamen gelten. Die Expertengruppe Sacherschließung hat die Änderungen an den RSWK auf ihren Sitzungen am 20. April 2009 bzw. 16. November 2009 beschlossen. Der Standardisierungsausschuss hat auf seiner 18. Sitzung am 25. November 2009 einer Veröffentlichung und Inkraftsetzung zum 1. Januar 2010 zugestimmt. Die Anpassungen des Regelwerks, die sich aus den geänderten §§ 13-15 ergeben, sollen Anfang 2010 veröffentlicht werden. - Abstract
- The »Clearingstelle für Öffentliche Bibliotheken«, an information, coordinating and supporting centre in the field of subject cataloguing for public libraries at the German National Library, was founded in 1991 by Magda Heiner-Freiling, who always kept the special needs and the benefit of the public libraries in mind. She was also one of the driving forces in the realization of the subject cataloguing of fiction and children's literature at »Die Deutsche Bibliothek« in 1993. The actual work process in the »Clearingstelle für Öffentliche Bibliotheken« is as follows: The librarian in charge transfers questions and proposals from public libraries concerning subject cataloguing to the subject librarians, who decide whether the requests and suggestions are accepted or refused. These national bibliographic services of the German National Library for public libraries are highly appreciated and widely used.
