    Abstract
    Although service-oriented architectures go a long way toward providing interoperability in distributed, heterogeneous environments, managing semantic differences in such environments remains a challenge. We give an overview of the issue of semantic interoperability (integration), provide a semantic characterization of services, and discuss the role of ontologies. Then we analyze four basic models of semantic interoperability that differ in respect to their mapping between service descriptions and ontologies and in respect to where the evaluation of the integration logic is performed. We also provide some guidelines for selecting one of the possible interoperability models.

    Abstract
    Ontologien werden eingesetzt, um durch semantische Fundierung insbesondere für das Dokumentenretrieval eine grundlegend bessere Basis zu haben, als dies gegenwärtiger Stand der Technik ist. Vorgestellt wird eine an der FH Darmstadt entwickelte und eingesetzte Ontologie, die den Gegenstandsbereich Hochschule sowohl breit abdecken und gleichzeitig differenziert semantisch beschreiben soll. Das Problem der semantischen Suche besteht nun darin, dass sie für Informationssuchende so einfach wie bei gängigen Suchmaschinen zu nutzen sein soll, und gleichzeitig auf der Grundlage des aufwendigen Informationsmodells hochwertige Ergebnisse liefern muss. Es wird beschrieben, welche Möglichkeiten die verwendete Software K-Infinity bereitstellt und mit welchem Konzept diese Möglichkeiten für eine semantische Suche nach Dokumenten und anderen Informationseinheiten (Personen, Veranstaltungen, Projekte etc.) eingesetzt werden.

    Abstract
    In diesem Kapitel werden Anwendungsgebiete und Ansätze für die semantische Beschreibung von Web Services behandelt. Bestehende Web Service Technologien leisten einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Entwicklung verteilter Anwendungen dadurch, dass weithin akzeptierte Standards vorliegen, die die Kommunikation zwischen Anwendungen bestimmen und womit deren Kombination zu komplexeren Einheiten ermöglicht wird. Automatisierte Mechanismen zum Auffinden geeigneter Web Services und deren Komposition dagegen werden von bestehenden Technologien in vergleichsweise geringem Maß unterstützt. Ähnlich wie bei der Annotation statischer Daten im "Semantic Web" setzen Forschung und Industrie große Hoffnungen in die semantische Beschreibung von Web Services zur weitgehenden Automatisierung dieser Aufgaben.

    Abstract
    Ziel dieses Kapitels ist es, gemeinsame Verwendungsszenarien des Semantic Web und des Social Web zu identifizieren und zu benennen. Dabei wird ein Teilaspekt des Themengebiets im Detail betrachtet: die Nutzung von Services, die Beobachtungen des Verhaltens von Anwendern analysieren, um daraus maschinell interpretierbare Informationen zu erhalten und diese als Modelle zu organisieren. Es werden zunächst einige Eigenschaften und Unterscheidungsmerkmale von Anwenderverhalten und organisierten Modellen dargestellt. Anschließend wird der mögliche wechselseitige Nutzen von Anwenderverhalten und Modellen diskutiert. Den Abschluss bildet eine Betrachtung einiger exemplarischer Software-Services, die heute schon verwendet werden, um Anwenderverhalten in Modelle überzuführen.

    Abstract
    Im Zuge des zunehmenden Einflusses des Semantic Web und der damit einhergehenden Verknüpfung von Informationen wird die Modellierung von Ontologien immer bedeutsamer. Hiermit verbunden ist natürlich auch deren Erweiterung um Instanzen, wodurch immer größere Wissensbasen entstehen. In den letzten Jahren sind sowohl aus akademischem, als auch aus industriellem Hintergrund Programme entstanden, die Ontologie-Autoren bei ihrer Arbeit unterstützen sollen. Nach einer kleinen allgemeinen Einführung in den Ablauf des Ontologiebaus soll hier ein Überblick über einige Tools gegeben werden, die aktuell zur Verfügung stehen, ohne Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit zu erheben.

    Abstract
    Das »Semantic Web« bildet einen der wichtigsten, aktuellen Trends in der Weiterentwicklung des World Wide Web. Ehrgeizige Vision dieser nächsten Generation des WWW ist es, durch semantische Anreicherung von Information eine neue Qualität in der Bereitstellung von Inhalten und Diensten zu erreichen und vollständig neue Anwendungsmöglichkeiten für das Web zu eröffnen. Wichtige Ziele der Entwicklung des Semantic Web sind dabei die verbesserte Unterstützung von Kooperation zwischen Menschen und Computern und die intelligente Assistenz bei der Durchführung von Aufgaben in kooperativen verteilten Informationsumgebungen. Schlüssel zur Erreichung dieser Ziele sind die Anreicherung von Daten im Web mit Metadaten, welche diese Daten in einen semantischen Kontext einbetten. Diese Kontextinformation wird durch Software-Anwendungen interpretiert und zur Informationsfilterung, Verfeinerung von Anfragen und zur Bereitstellung intelligenter Assistenten verwendet. Eine große Herausforderung stellt dabei die geeignete Modellierung und Beschreibung des Kontexts dar. Diese muss eine automatische, globale Interpretation ermöglichen, ohne dass auf ein allgemeingültiges semantisches Beschreibungsschema zurückgegriffen werden kann. Die Vereinbarung eines solchen allgemeingültigen Schemas ist in einem derart umfangreichen, heterogenen und autonomen Rahmen, wie ihn das WWW darstellt, nicht möglich.

    Abstract
    Dieser Artikel betrachtet das Problem steigender Komplexität in IT Systemen. Als wesentlicher Aspekt wird Interoperabilität zwischen Anwendungen dargestellt. Als Modell für die Vielschichtigkeit von Integrationszenarien wird ein Modell präsentiert. das Integration und deren Auswirkungen auf verschiedenen Ebenen darstellt. Semantische Technologien werden in Relation zu bestehenden Ansätzen, wie Entity Relationship Diagrammen und objektorientierter Modellierung, gesetzt. Ein konkretes Beispiel demonstriert die unterschiedlichen Modellierungsergebnisse. Als wesentliche Szenarien für die Verwendung von semantischen Technologien werden Daten- und Prozessintegration dargestellt. Hierbei werden zuerst Probleme mit bestehenden Technologien präsentiert. Anschließend folgt anhand von Beispielen die Demonstration, wie semantische Technologien helfen können, diese Probleme zu lösen.

Der Schachzug des Unternehmens könnte der Verbreitung der Technologie erheblichen Auftrieb geben.     Abstract
    Dass sich Kommunikation über einen Me­dienmix vollzieht, stellt schon seit sehr langer Zeit den Regelfall dar. In letzter Zeit wird verstärkt für Mischungen aus gegensätzlichen Medien plädiert, allen voran aus konventionellen und elektro­nischen Medien. Der Beitrag behandelt die Frage, nach welchen Mustern derar­tige hybride Kommunikationsmixe kon­struiert sind und wie deren Effektivität und Effizienz zu beurteilen sind. Die Beantwortung dieser Fragen erfolgt auf der Basis einer Expertenbefragung zum Einsatz von Web-2.0-Medien in Verände­rungsprozessen.

    Abstract
    This paper presents an approach to enhance interoperability between heterogeneous ontologies. It consists in adapting the ranking of concepts to the final users and their work context. The computations are based on an upper domain ontology, a task hierarchy and a user profile. As prerequisites, OWL ontologie have to be given, and an articulation ontology has to be built.

    Abstract
    Das Medium Internet ist im Wandel, und mit ihm ändern sich seine Publikations- und Rezeptionsbedingungen. Welche Chancen bieten die momentan parallel diskutierten Zukunftsentwürfe von Social Web und Semantic Web? Zur Beantwortung dieser Frage beschäftigt sich der Beitrag mit den Grundlagen beider Modelle unter den Aspekten Anwendungsbezug und Technologie, beleuchtet darüber hinaus jedoch auch deren Unzulänglichkeiten sowie den Mehrwert einer mediengerechten Kombination. Am Beispiel des grammatischen Online-Informationssystems grammis wird eine Strategie zur integrativen Nutzung der jeweiligen Stärken skizziert.

    Abstract
    Wir stellen eine Erweiterung der klassischen Wiki-Software MediaWiki vor, mit der man Inhalte auf einfache Art und Weise mit semantischen Attributen und Beziehungen anreichern kann. Dies ermöglicht es einem weiten Kreis von Wikipedia-Nutzern, gemeinschaftlich eine semantische Wissensbasis aufzubauen, die im Hinblick auf Größe, Umfang, Dynamik, Offenheit und Reichweite einzigartig wäre. Die semantischen Erweiterungen bergen zahlreiche Vorteile für Wikipedia und andere große Wikis: Sie erlauben die automatische Kontrolle der Konsistenz und Vollständigkeit des Wikis, und sie eröffnen neuartige Möglichkeiten zur Suche nach Informationen und zum Browsen von Inhalten. Ein standardkonformer RDF-Export ermöglicht es darüberhinaus, Wissen aus Wikipedia auch in externen Anwendungen mit geringem Aufwand wiederzuverwenden.

    Abstract
    Semantische Mashups sind Anwendungen, die vernetzte Daten aus mehreren Web-Datenquellen mittels standardisierter Datenformate und Zugriffsmechanismen nutzen. Der Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die Idee und Motivation der Vernetzung von Daten. Es werden verschiedene Architekturen und Ansätze zur Generierung von RDF-Daten aus bestehenden Web 2.0-Datenquellen, zur Vernetzung der extrahierten Daten sowie zur Veröffentlichung der Daten im Web anhand konkreter Beispiele diskutiert. Hierbei wird insbesondere auf Datenquellen, die aus sozialen Interaktionen hervorgegangen sind eingegangen. Anschließend wird ein Überblick über verschiedene, im Web frei zugängliche semantische Mashups gegeben und auf leichtgewichtige Inferenzansätze eingegangen, mittels derer sich die Funktionalität von semantischen Mashups weiter verbessern lässt.

    Abstract
    Research on semantic web services promises greater interoperability among software agents and web services by enabling content-based automated service discovery and interaction and by utilizing. Although this is to be based on use of shared ontologies published on the semantic web, services produced and described by different developers may well use different, perhaps partly overlapping, sets of ontologies. Interoperability will depend on ontology mappings and architectures supporting the associated translation processes. The question we ask is, does the traditional approach of introducing mediator agents to translate messages between requestors and services work in such an open environment? This article reviews some of the processing assumptions that were made in the development of the semantic web service modeling ontology OWL-S and argues that, as a practical matter, the translation function cannot always be isolated in mediators. Ontology mappings need to be published on the semantic web just as ontologies themselves are. The translation for service discovery, service process model interpretation, task negotiation, service invocation, and response interpretation may then be distributed to various places in the architecture so that translation can be done in the specific goal-oriented informational contexts of the agents performing these processes. We present arguments for assigning translation responsibility to particular agents in the cases of service invocation, response translation, and match- making.
