- Abstract
- Als Erfinder des «Allgemeinen» gilt, gemäß dem Bericht des Aristoteles und seit diesem Bericht, Sokrates. Er ist es, der nicht mehr danach suchte, woraus ein Ding zu dem geworden ist, was es ist, oder wie es entstanden ist, sondern danach, «was [ein Ding] ist», und somit ist Sokrates der erste gewesen, der die Herausarbeitung des Allgemeinen (?a?????) forderte und mit seinen Fragen seine Gesprächspartner zu dieser Herausarbeitung trieb bzw. lockte; die Definition (???sµ??) war das Ziel des sokratischen Gesprächs, und die sokratische Aporie war das Vehikel.

- Abstract
- Eine der wesentlichen Aufgaben als Fachreferent*in ist die inhaltliche Erschließung der neuerworbenen Literatur, sowie die Begutachtung und Auswahl der neu erschienenen Werke in den jeweiligen Fachgebieten hinsichtlich der Relevanz für die eigenen Sammlungen gemäß dem Sammlungsprofil der TU Wien Bibliothek. Im Zuge der Corona-Krise wurde die herkömmliche Arbeitsweise in der Sacherschließung beeinträchtigt, und es haben sich neue Herausforderungen, aber auch Möglichkeiten ergeben. Neben der fehlenden Autopsie der Literatur leidet auch die Sichtung und Erwerbung neuer Literatur unter der physischen Abwesenheit vom Arbeitsplatz bzw. der entsprechenden technischen Infrastruktur. Auch der persönliche Austausch mit den Kolleg*innen wurde deutlich erschwert. Neben den Schwierigkeiten wurden aber auch die neuen Handlungsoptionen auf beruflicher und individueller Ebene positiv gesehen. In dem Artikel werden unsere individuellen Erfahrungen an der TU Wien Bibliothek sowie Ausblicke in die Zukunft wiedergegeben.

- Abstract
- Das Problem der Wahrnehmung und Darstellung von Wahrheit durch die Medien führt zu vier zentralen Fragen: Wie viel Wahrheit gibt es in der Welt, über die Journalisten berichten müssen? Wie ermittelt oder recherchiert man diese Wahrheit? Wie trennt man die Spreu vom Weizen? Und wie geht man als Journalist mit dem um, was man als Wahrheit erkannt hat oder erkannt zu haben glaubt? Hier gibt es ganz offensichtlich eine Parallele zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern. Journalisten und Wissenschaftler brauchen erstens Hypothesen, zweitens geeignete Hypothesentests, drittens ein gutes Abgrenzungs-Kriterium und viertens Verfahren, um die erkannten Sachverhalte auf angemessene Weise für eine Kommunikation mit anderen zu repräsentieren, das heißt sie darzustellen. Es gibt zwei große Unterschiede zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern: Journalisten sind in der Regel auf raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen aus, Wissenschaftler in der Regel auf raumzeitlich unbegrenzte Gesetze. Aber diese Unterschiede sind fließend, weil Wissenschaftler raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen brauchen, um ihre All-Aussagen zu überprüfen, und Journalisten sich immer häufiger auf das Feld der allgemeinen Gesetzes-Aussagen wagen oder doch zumindest Kausalinterpretationen für soziale Phänomene anbieten. Der zweite Unterschied besteht darin, dass die Wissenschaft weitgehend professionalisiert ist (zumindest gilt dies uneingeschränkt für die Naturwissenschaften und die Medizin), was ihr relativ klare Abgrenzungs- und Güte-Kriterien beschert hat. Diese fehlen weitgehend im Journalismus.

- Abstract
- Bei der Gestaltung des Fernunterrichts sollten mehrere Lerntheorien herangezogen werden. Kognitive, pragmatische und affektive Lernziele wurden formuliert. Für die kognitiven Lernziele wurde die Lernzieltaxonomie von Bloom an die weitergehenden Erfordernisse des Formalerschließungsunterrichts angepasst. Daneben wurden persönliche Kompetenzen angegeben. Der Unterricht muss auf die Bedürfnisse der Zielgruppe abgestimmt sein. Zu beachten sind Alter, Bildungsgrad, fachspezifische Vorbildung, Geschlecht und die verschiedenen Lernstile. Besonders Fernstudien bedürfen entsprechender Motivierung der Lernenden. Dafür wurde die ARCS-Motivationstheorie um den Punkt "Freiheit" erweitert. Die neun Instruktionsereignisse von Gagné wurden durch konstruktivistische Methoden zu elf "didaktischen Anweisungen" ergänzt und für den Formalerschließungsfernunterricht ausformuliert.

- "Nach dem schlechten Abschneiden deutscher Schüler in der Bildungsstudie Pisa setzt sich der Börsenvereinsvorsitzende des Deutschen Buchhandels, Dieter Schormann, für einen "Runden Tisch" auf Bundesebene mit den Länder-Kultusministern ein. Teilnehmen sollten daran auch Vertreter aus der Wirtschaft, Buchhändler, Verleger, Pädagogen und Bibliothekare, sagte der Gießener Buchhändler. Schormann: "Der Runde Tisch soll Signale setzen. Wir brauchen ein breites gesellschaftliches Bewusstsein für die Bedrohung der Zukunft durch das Bildungsdefizit." Hier seien besonders Politik und Wirtschaft gefordert. Nach der Veröffentlichung der Pisa-Studie hätten gerade Wirtschaftskreise zu viele "Prügel" verteilt. Auch die Unternehmen ständen in der Pflicht, über neue Bildungskonzepte nachzudenken. Laut Pisa-Studie können mehr als ein Fünftel der deutschen Schüler Texte nicht mehr richtig lesen und verstehen. Im "Rausch der Entwicklung rund ums Internet" hätten viele Verantwortliche die "Bodenhaftung" verloren, nannte Schormann dafür als einen Grund. Bücher würden im Schulunterricht inzwischen vielfach durch das Internet ersetzt. Das sei falsch. Schormann: "Alle sagen, Schulen müssen ans Netz. Was bringt das, wenn die Lesekompetenz nicht mehr vorhanden ist, um die neuen Medien zu nutzen?" Viele Kinder würden zudem die Lust am Lesen verlieren, weil die im Unterricht verwendeten Bücher oft veraltet seien"

- Abstract
- In unserer heutigen Informationsgesellschaft führen immer neue Technologien und Medien sowie die massiv zunehmende Datenmenge zu einem sehr hohen Stellenwert der Informations- und Medienkompetenz. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden die Herausforderungen im Prozess der Vermittlung dieser Kompetenzen im Hochschulbereich thematisiert. Es wird ein Konzept vorgestellt, das einen integrativen Blended-Learning-Ansatz vorschlägt, in dessen Rahmen Schlüsselqualifikationen nach dem Ansatz des kontextuellen Lehrens vermittelt werden können. Es findet hierbei eine Fokussierung auf den Prozess der kollaborativen Konzeption und Erarbeitung von Wissensstrukturen statt, bei dem Studierende auf einem Themengebiet implizite Zusammenhänge erarbeiten und in Kooperation mit ihren Kommilitonen verschiedene Sichtweisen, Begrifflichkeiten und Verständnisse diskutieren sowie in Form von Topic Maps visualisieren. Die Vorgehensweise stützt sich auf neue Erkenntnisse der kognitiven Lernpsychologie, der Pädagogik und der Didaktik. Der Prozess der kollaborativen Ontologieentwicklung findet in einer über mehrere Jahre hinweg entwickelten und eingesetzten Lernumgebung statt, die explizit auf die Vermittlung von Schlüsselqualifikationen ausgerichtet ist.
