    Abstract
    Um jegliche Quellen und Tatsachenbehauptungen prüfen und verifizieren zu können (den Begriff der "Falsifikation" lässt Steve Patriarca als Vertreter eines autoritären, eher Popper-feindlichen Wissenschaftsverständnis wohlweislich an dieser Stelle weg) sind drei Dinge entscheidend: 1. domänenspezifisches, erfahrungsbasiertes, fachlich-methodischen (Vor-)Wissen 2. die Akzeptanz einer an die Bescheidenheit des menschlichen Wissens appellierenden Vorstellung, dass "unser objektives Vermutungswissen immer weit über das hinausgeht, was ein Mensch meistern kann". Wir können also nie sicheres Wissen besitzen und die Vorstellung, man sei im Besitz einer sicheren Wahrheit, ist falsch. Sokrates alte Weisheit, "ich weiß, dass ich nicht weiß" (leider oft falsch übersetzt, da man dem Wort "nicht" noch den Buchstaben "s" angefügt hat) ist aber für viele unerträglich, da sie vermutlich ihre Autoritätsansprüche gefährdet. 3. Subjektives, nicht sicheres (Vermutungs-)Wissen ist durch Anwendung des Popper'schen Falsifikationsprinzips in der wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissuche stets auf seinen Wahrheitsgehalt zu überprüfen. Noch einmal: Wir können nie endgültige Wahrheit "besitzen".
