    Wer aber die begrifflich-sprachliche Grundlage alles rational begründenden Denkens überhaupt ernst nimmt, die auch die selbstverständliche Grundlage alles mathematischen Denkens ist, kann eigentlich gar keinen Zweifel daran haben, dass jeder lebensertüchtigenden Bildung und Ausbildung ein unverzichtbares geistiges und daher in kritischer Reflexion auch geisteswissenschaftliches Fundament zu Grunde liegt - das gilt für Naturwissenschaft, Mathematik und Technik nicht anders als für die Vielfalt kulturwissenschaftlicher Disziplinen. Die vermeintlich bedeutsame Frage eines Vorrangs geistesoder naturwissenschaftlicher Bildung - der "einen" oder der "anderen" Kultur - ist tatsächlich eher der Ausweis eines Mangels an Bildung, die solche Bezeichnung verdient, und zugleich ein Streit um Ei oder Huhn, wenn nicht gar um Henne oder Hahn. Damit lassen sich zwar offenkundig Bücher verkaufen, aber das gilt bekanntlich für Astrologie oder Psychoanalyse genauso und ist kein Beleg für ihren Wahrheitsgehalt. Ein solcher umfassender, gesamthafter, nicht spalthirniger Bildungsbegriff hat nun allerdings keineswegs zur Folge, dass aus jedem Kind in der Foltermühle einer Allwissenheitsbildungsschule ein total überforderter Schein-Polyhistor, einer, der alles Mögliche weiß, gemacht werden soll. Nur ein Bildungsbegriff, der einen inhaltlich auf Vollständigkeit zielenden Wissenskanon zu Grunde legte, der dem armen bildungshungrigen Kind das Maul stopfen und den Kopf blähen soll, könnte einer solchen Zwangsvorstellung von Bildung verfallen. Ein ganzheitlicher Bildungsbegriff kann niemals Vollständigkeit, niemals "Auslernen" zum Ziel haben. Ein ganzheitlicher Bildungsbegriff muss vielmehr immer offen sein für verschiedenartige Verständnis- und Erfahrungsformen, für die Bahnung von sehr verschiedenen Zugangswegen zum Leben, die dann jeder Einzelne nach Begabung, Neigung und Anregung in freier Entscheidung zu weiterer Erkundung wählen und weiter erkunden mag. Gerade die Überwindung jener stupiden Zwei-Kulturen-Teilung der Erfahrungswelt öffnet ja erst das Verständnis dafür, dass die Welt des Wissbaren und Erfahrenswerten weit vielfältiger differenziert ist, als es die Snowsche Zweiteilung suggeriert. Nicht nur, weil etwa die Probleme und die Methodik zu ihrer Aufklärung in Geschichts-, Rechts-, Sozial-, Literatur-, Kunst-, Wirtschaftswissenschaft, Psychologie oder Philosophie jeweils so verschiedenartig sind, dass es unsinnig ist, sie in eine einzige, die so genannte geisteswissenschaftliche Erkenntnis zusammenzupressen. Auch auf der anderen Seite der zweigeteilten Bildungswelt ist die Landschaft nicht weniger vielgestaltig: Lebenswissenschaften, Physik, Chemie, Astronomie und Geo- oder Ingenieurwis senschaften sind zwar alle durch gemeinsame Naturerkenntniswurzeln verbunden und - aus Gründen, die immer noch eher mit Staunen als mit Einsicht zur Kenntnis zu nehmen sind - allesamt durch die reine Geisteswelt der Mathematik eingehüllt. Aber wer könnte dabei denn übersehen, dass sich beispielsweise in vieler Hinsicht Mathematik und philosophische Logik weit näher stehen, als beide ihren eigentlichen Nachbarbereichen von Geistes- oder Naturwissenschaften? Wer könnte übersehen, wie etwa im weiten Gebiet der Psychologie evolutionsbiologische, genetische, neurowissenschaftliche Zugangswege in immer engere Wechselwirkung mit den Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften, ja bis hin zu philosophischen und kunstwissenschaftlichen Erkundungsweisen des menschlichen Geistes treten?
