- Abstract
- Die vordergründige Heterogenität einiger Fachsystematiken der RVK ist auf ihre Entstehungsgeschichte zurückzuführen, hat aber die anhaltende Erfolgsgeschichte der RVK keineswegs gebremst. Als Universalklassifikation bietet die RVK zudem einen breiten fachlichen Anwendungsbereich für alle Hochschulbibliotheken. Für eine Volluniversität konzipiert entsprechen die 34 Fachsystematiken der RVK mit der Fächergliederung von "A = Allgemeines" bis "ZX-ZY = Sport" der Reihenfolge der Fächer einer klassischen Gliederung deutscher Fakultäten zum Entstehungszeitpunkt der Systematik. Diese Reihenfolge ist konventionell und völlig wertfrei in Bezug auf die Bedeutung der einzelnen Fächer."
