    Abstract
    Die Geschichte informeller, gemeinschaftlich gepflegter Online-Bibliographien sowie die zentralen Konzepte von Social-Bookmarking-Diensten (Bibliographie sozialer Netzwerke, Sacherschließung durch Social Tagging, Folksonomies als persönliche und Collabularies als gemeinschaftliche Vokabulare) werden dargestellt und diskutiert. Zur Charakterisierung der geschilderten Gesamtentwicklung wird der Begriff Metadatenrevolution eingeführt. Es werden Strategien vorgeschlagen, mit denen Bibliotheken und Informationseinrichtungen auf diese Entwicklung eingehen können.

    Abstract
    Es ist nun zwölf Jahre her, daß ich auf dem Österreichischen Bibliothekartag - im Jahre 1990 - zum ersten und seitdem auch letzten Mal über die deutschen - und das bedeutete damals noch im Wesentlichen: westdeutschen - Landesbibliographien berichtet habe. Dies geschah in der gemeinsamen Sitzung der Kommission für Bibliographie und der Kommission für Landesbibliotheken und hatte vor allem die Automatisierung der Bibliographieerstellung zum Thema. Die Betonung lag damals auf der Landesbibliographie von Baden-Württemberg, zum einen, weil sie soeben den Sprung vom Zettelkasten zur Datenbank geschafft hatte, zum anderen, weil mit Blick auf den Veranstaltungsort - Bregenz - dem Raum rund um den Bodensee besondere Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet wurde. Neben der Landesbibliographie von Baden-Württemberg wurde deshalb damals auch die EDV-gestützte Herstellung der Bodenseee-Bibliographie vorgestellt. Im heutigen Vortrag soll es um einen weiteren Qualitätssprung gehen, doch zuvor einige Ausführungen über den Weg dorthin.

    Abstract
    Die 15 laufenden deutschen Landesbibliographien dokumentieren die Literatur über die einzelnen Länder, ihre Regionen, Orte und Persönlichkeiten in regelmäßig erscheinenden Bibliographien. Neben bzw. an die Stelle der gedruckten Bibliographie ist die Online-Datenbank getreten, die über das Internet weltweit zur Verfügung steht. Die nach der Methode des KVK funktionierende Virtuelle Deutsche Landesbibliographie fasst diese Internet-Datenbanken nun unter einer gemeinsamen Suchoberfläche zusammen. Sie ermöglicht die Abfrage gleich mehrerer Bibliographien in einem Schritt und vergrößert die Treffermenge bei länderübergreifenden, regional unspezifischen sowie biographischen Fragestellungen.

    Abstract
    Nach einer kurzen Darstellung der Entstehungsgeschichte und der Grundideen, nach denen die ZDB aufgebaut wurde und die sie noch heute bestimmen, beschreibt der Beitrag ausführlicher die derzeitige Situation der ZDB unter den drei Gesichtspunkten des Verbundsystems, der zugrundeliegenden Datenbank und der Produkte aus dieser Datenbank für die Endnutzer. Anschließend werden unter ,Perspektiven' Fragen des inhaltlichen Ausbaus der ZDB, der besonderen Anforderungen durch die elektronischen Zeitschriften, der Verbesserung der Online-Kommunikation, der Anbindung von Aufsatz-Datenbanken und einige weitere Aufgaben behandelt.
