    Abstract
    Die Illustration Googles von Jude Buffum kann als stenografischer Hinweis auf die "Vergoogelung" gelesen werden, ein Terminus, der 2003 eingeführt wurde, um das Einsickern der Suchtechnologien und Ästhetik dieses Medienunternehmens in immer mehr Web-Applikationen und Kontexte, sogar in traditionsreiche Einrichtungen wie Bibliotheken zu bezeichnen. Der Medienwissenschaftler Siva Vaidhyanathan schreibt in einem Blog-Eintrag über sein Buch The Googlization of Everything, dass Google die "Spielregeln für mindestens sechs Wirtschaftsbranchen geändert hat: Werbung, Software, geographische Dienste, E-Mail, das Verlagswesen und den Online-Handel selbst".
