Abstract

Die Arbeit mit einer Verbundklassifikation ist im deutschen Bibliothekswesen - trotz inzwischen langjähriger Erfahrung - noch eher ungewohnt. Dabei meint man mit einer Verbundklassifikation eine von verschiedenen Institutionen angewandte und optimierte bibliothekarische Klassifikation. Dafür sind zwei Anforderungen an die Verbundpartner grundsätzlich wichtig: Bereitschaft zur Übernahme ohne allzu große Änderungen und Bereitschaft zum Kompromiß. Zum Entstehen einer Verbundklassifikation sind nötig: Inhaltliche und formale Voraussetzungen; geeignetes Umfeld; Bereitstellung von Hilfsmitteln. Diese Überlegungen werden anhand der Regensburger Verbundklassifikation als der größten deutschen Verbundklassifikation exemplarisch gezeigt. Dazu wird auf einige Ergebnisse inhaltlicher Arbeit hingewiesen. Die Verbundklassifikation stellt somit zweifellos eine echte und - in der Regensburger Verbundklassifikation bereits seit 25 Jahren bestehende - progressive Entwicklung dar.
