- Dieses Whitepaper beschäftigt sich mit der Definition und Bewertung von Faktoren, die eine hohe Rangkorrelation-Koeffizienz mit organischen Suchergebnissen aufweisen und dient dem Zweck der tieferen Analyse von Suchmaschinen-Algorithmen. Die Datenerhebung samt Auswertung bezieht sich auf Ranking-Faktoren für Google-Deutschland im Jahr 2014. Zusätzlich wurden die Korrelationen und Faktoren unter anderem anhand von Durchschnitts- und Medianwerten sowie Entwicklungstendenzen zu den Vorjahren hinsichtlich ihrer Relevanz für vordere Suchergebnis-Positionen interpretiert.

- Abstract
- Institutionelle Repositorien (IR) wurden vornehmlich entwickelt, um die Sichtbarkeit des Forschungsoutputs einer Institution darzustellen. Resultate empirischer Arbeiten über die Akzeptanz und Nutzung institutioneller Repositorien in den vergangenen Jahren zeichnen jedoch ein eher kritisches Bild dieses scheinbaren Erfolgsmodells. Denn obwohl von Universitätsbibliotheken und Forschungseinrichtungen Geld und Personal in ihren Aufbau und Betrieb investiert wurde, konnten institutionellen Repositorien die Erwartungshaltungen nicht immer erfüllen. Haben sich die Proponenten bei der Umsetzung der Ziele ungeeigneter Strategien bedient, gab es technologische Veränderungen und wurden IR durch andere Formen und Techniken der Wissenschaftskommunikation bereits still und leise abgelöst? Im Versuch diese und ähnliche Fragestellungen in einer essayistisch kritischen Form zu beantworten, sollen Faktoren, die den heutigen Status quo von IR mitbestimmt haben, beleuchtet werden. An Beispielen aus dem Markt für Wissenschaftskommunikation einerseits und verschiedenen Charakteristika des Forschungsprozesses andererseits, wird versucht, Entwicklungen zu skizzieren und Wirkungszusammenhänge abzuleiten, die das Modell der institutionellen Repositorien beeinflusst haben.

- Abstract
- Schon zur Wende ins 20. Jahrhundert zweifelte der belgische Privatgelehrte Paul Otlet an der Zukunft des Buches und der Bibliothek. Statt dessen begann er damit, eine Dokumentation und Neuorganisation des Weltwissens anzulegen, und mittels eines Karteikartensystems (Répertoire Bibliographique Universel) zu vernetzen. Dieses Projekt eines flexiblen, abfrageorientierten Wissensbestandes in einem 'Hypermedium' (Otlet) besetzte jene technologische Leerstelle, die inzwischen eine die bibliothekarische Epoche aufsprengende neue Wissenskultur der digitalen Medialität produziert hat.

Es werden die Faktoren dargestellt, die bei der Planung der Informationsarchitektur einer Website bedacht werden sollten. Sie erleichtern es dem Nutzer, Information zu finden und aufzunehmen. Eine Voraussetzung ist, die Struktur in der Konzeptionsphase zu optimieren, um eine nutzerfreundliche, erfolgreiche Website zu gestalten. Darüber hinaus werden Kriterien für die Navigation und das Labelsystem beschrieben, auf die Problematik der Suchfunktion eingegangen und das komplexe Thema der Metadaten und kontrollierten Vokabulare angerissen.

- Abstract
- Während in den vergangenen Monaten Themen wie Web 2.0 und Social Software ein erstaunliches Konjunkturhoch erlebt haben, vollzieht sich weitgehend abseits der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung eine technologische Komplementärinnovation. Die wachsende Adaption semantischer Technologien zu Zwecken der strukturierten Erschließung von "Web 2.0 Content", aber auch der Einsatz von Social Software zur kollaborativen Anreicherung von Web Content mit maschinenlesbaren Metadaten sind Ausdruck eines Trends in Richtung "Social Semantic Web". Bezeichnendes Merkmal dieser Entwicklung ist die voranschreitende Konvergenz zwischen Social Software und Semantic Web Technologien. Dieser Beitrag hat das Ziel ein allgemeines Bewusstsein und Verständnis dieser Entwicklung zu schaffen und nähert sich dem Phänomen aus einer nichttechnischen Perspektive.

- Hohe Arbeitslosigkeit in den frühen 30er Jahren - und jetzt wieder seit Mitte der 80er Jahre: Sind Beschäftigungskrisen ein Wiederholungsphänomen? Ist der nachfolgende Aufschwung mit Vollbeschäftigung also gleichsam schon gewiß? 1926 beschrieb Nicolai Kondratieff ein Zyklusphänomen der Wirtschaft von 50-60 jähriger Dauer. In diesem Abstand haben seit Beginn des Industriezeitalters technologische Basisinnovationen der Wirtschaft zuerst neue Produkte und Märkte beschert und dann alle Produktions- und Wirtschaftsgebiete revolutioniert. Jahrzehnten allgemeinen Aufschwungs mit Vollbeschäftigung folgte eine Phase der Marktsättigung, Stagnation oder Rezession mit steigender Arbeitslosigkeit, bis eine neue Basisinnovation wieder eine solche 'Lange Welle' anstieß.
