    Abstract
    Die Theorie der Wissenschaftskommunikation muss sich die konzeptuellen Bausteine aus jenen Wissenschaften holen, welche sich mit der Wissens- und Kommunikationsthematik eingehend, aber getrennt befassen. Die bisherigen Arbeiten zur Wissenschaftskommunikation machen davon leider nur einseitigen Gebrauch: Wissenschaftstheorie für die Vergangenheit, IuK-Technologie für die Zukunft der Wissenschaftskommunikation. Zur Wissens- und Wissenschaftskommunikation gibt es viele isolierte Theoreme, wenig ausgearbeitete Konzepte, keine umfassende Theorie. Was fehlt, ist ein verbindender, verbundener Ansatz. Dazu braucht es allerdinas mehr, als hier im Einzelnen erläutert werden kann.

    Abstract
    Das Management von Daten, Information und wissen prägt die aktuelle Theorie und Praxis unternehmerischen Handelns. Der hier gewählte Einstieg in die theoretische Diskussion bildet der klassische Ansatz von I. Nonaka und H. Takeuchi über kreative Prozesse im Umgang mit der Wissensressource in Unternehmen. Es wird dabei auf Rezeption und Kritik dieses Ansatzes durch G. Schreyögg, Chr. Noss, D.B. Bürgel, A. Zeller und P. Reinmöller eingegangen. Im zweiten Teil, der sich mit der Praxis des Wissensmanagements befaßt, werden Beispiele aus Nonaka/Takeuchi sowie aus den von Th. Davenport und L. Prusak in ihrem Buch 'Working knowledge' (1997) analysierten Fällen aufgeführt. Die Darstellung schließt mit Hinweisen auf deutsche Unternehmen sowie auf Veranstaltungen und Websites zu diesem Thema. Der Ausblick gibt Auskunft über die Bedeutung von Wissensmanagement in der FH Stuttgart (HBI)

    Der Artikel beleuchtet den einzigartigen Beitrag von Hanns Wilhelm Eppelsheimer (1890-1972) zur Theorie und Praxis der facettierten klassifikatorischen Sacherschließung. Hauptpunkt seiner Methode ist die klare Trennung zwischen den klassifikatorisch abgebildeten, disziplin-spezifischen Begriffsbeziehungen einerseits und den durch sog. "Schlüssel" abgebildeten, dokument-spezifischen Behandlungsaspekten andererseits.

    Abstract
    In ihrer "Mathematical Theory of Communication" beschrieben Shannon und Weaver zur Mitte des vergangenen Jahrhunderts die Technik einer möglichst ungestörten und wirtschaftlichen Nachrichten-Übertragung. Die Einbeziehung der Deutung (Interpretation und Semantik) und der Nutzung der Nachrichten (Pragmatik) blieben der späteren Entwicklung überlassen. Ohne dass es zu dieser Fortentwicklung gekommen wäre, wurde der Geltungsbereich der Theorie jedoch bald auf den gesamten Kommunikationsprozess ausgedehnt. Dies geschah dadurch, dass diese Theorie in "Information Theory" umbenannt wurde, mancherlei Widersprüchen aus der Fachwelt zum Trotz. Noch immer wurde kein Unterschied zwischen Nachricht und Information gemacht, und einer jeglichen Nachricht und jeglichem Signal wurde eine neu definierte Art von "Informationsmenge" zugewiesen. Dieser rein statistische Begriff ist weit entfernt von der ureigentlichen Bedeutung des Wortes "Information". Was eine Nachricht bedeutet und ob sie für den Empfänger verständlich, interessant und nützlich ist, bleibt in dieser Theorie außer Betracht. Die Ursachen, der Verlauf und die Folgen dieser Verirrung werden untersucht und kritisiert. Wenn und so lange auch die Informatik einen solchen "Informations"-Begriff zu ihrer Grundlage hat, entbehrt sie jeglicher Kompetenz auf dem Gebiet dessen, was traditionell und umgangsprachig unter Information verstanden wird. Durch die ungerechtfertigte Beanspruchung und Durchsetzung von Zuständigkeit für das Gesamtgebiet der Information hat die "Informations"-Theorie weitverbreitet großen Schaden verursacht. Dies gilt bei aller Anerkennung der großen Fortschritte in der Informatik bei der reinen Technik der Datenverarbeitung, die aufgrund dieser Theorie ebenfalls erzielt worden sind. Teil 1 behandelt die index-relevanten Aspekte der "Informationstheorie".

    "Seelische Vorgänge wurden bis in die Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts meist mit Begriffen der Psychoanalyse erklärt, einer Schöpfung des österreichischen Neurologen SigmundFreud (1856-1939). Seiner Grundhypothese zufolge bleiben uns die eigentlichen Motive unseres Handelns weit gehend unbewusst; sie werden sogar durch eine spezielle Kraft, die Verdrängung, aktiv vom Bewusstsein fern gehalten. Das Exekutivorgan der Psyche - das »Ich« - sucht unbewusste Triebimpulse, die aus dem »Es« auftauchen, abzuwehren, wenn sie mit unseren kulturbedingten Moralvorstellungen - dem Gewissen oder »Über-Ich« - nicht vereinbar sind. Diese Verdrängung ist nach Freud nötig, weil sonst die Triebe in Form kindischer Fantasien, hemmungsloser Sexualität und aggressiver Gewalttätigkeit unser Leben beherrschen würden."

    Abstract
    Der Beitrag skizziert die Grundlagen der Arbeit mit Klassifikationen in Bibliotheken und erläutert die Grundbegriffe der bibliothekarischen Klassifikationstheorie. Schwerpunkte bilden die Ordnungsprinzipien und Strukturierungsmittel von Klassifikationen sowie die verschiedenen Klassifikationstypologien.     Abstract
    Moderne Verfahren des Information Retrieval verlangen nach aussagekräftigen und detailliert relationierten Dokumentationssprachen. Der selektive Transfer einzelner Modellierungsstrategien aus dem Bereich semantischer Technologien für die Gestaltung und Relationierung bestehender Dokumentationssprachen wird diskutiert. In Form einer Taxonomie wird ein hierarchisch strukturiertes Relationeninventar definiert, welches sowohl hinreichend allgemeine als auch zahlreiche spezifische Relationstypen enthält, die eine detaillierte und damit aussagekräftige Relationierung des Vokabulars ermöglichen. Das bringt einen Zugewinn an Übersichtlichkeit und Funktionalität. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Ansätzen und Überlegungen zur Schaffung von Relationeninventaren entwickelt der vorgestellte Vorschlag das Relationeninventar aus der Begriffsmenge eines bestehenden Gegenstandsbereichs heraus.
