    "Am 18. Mai 2009 wurde das zentrale Wissenschaftsportal für die Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften an der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek neu eröffnet (www.b2i.de). Neuaufbau und Ausbau des Portals, das 2008 von der Niedersächsischen Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek übernommen wurde, werden von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gefördert. Das bisherige Erscheinungsbild des Portals wurde weitgehend beibehalten, doch unter der Oberfläche birgt die Virtuelle Fachbibliothek zahlreiche technische Neuerungen. So konnte die Metasuche über aktuell 14 qualitätskontrollierte und fachrelevante Datenquellen (Bibliothekskataloge, Bibliografien, Zeitschriftenartikel, Internetressourcen und elektronische Volltexte) unter Einbindung der FAST-Suchmaschinentechnologie realisiert werden, was neben einer erheblichen Beschleunigung der Suche auch die Möglichkeit mit sich bringt, die Suchergebnisse nach bestimmten Kriterien (z.B. nach Erscheinungsjahr oder Thema) weiter zu filtern. Neben der zentralen Suche wurden die bisher gewohnten Services, vor allem die Bestellmöglichkeiten für Monografien-, Zeitschriften- und Aufsatzliteratur, neu aufgebaut. b2i agiert für Interessierte aus Wissenschaft, Studium und Praxis als interdisziplinärer "One-stop-shop" der Fachinformation. Die bisherigen Partner beim Aufbau von b2i, die Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen, das Institut für Buchwissenschaft der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, das Kompetenznetzwerk für Bibliotheken beim DBV in Berlin, das Informationszentrum für Informationswissenschaft und -praxis der Fachhochschule Potsdam und der Fachbereich Informationswissenschaften der Fachhochschule Potsdam sowie das St. Galler Zentrum für das Buch an der Kantonsbibliothek Vadiana St. Gallen und die Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel unterstützten den Neuaufbau des Portals in München. Der Portalausbau mit der Unterstützung neuer Partner ist bereits in Vorbereitung."

    Abstract
    Seit Juni 2005 beteiligen sich auch wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken an der Deutschen Internetbibliothek. Der 2002 an den Start gegangene Kooperationsverbund aus 70 Öffentlichen Bibliotheken, der den Internetnutzern sowohl einen annotierten Linkkatalog als auch eine kostenlose E-Mail-Auskunft zur Verfügung stellt, bietet seit kurzem auch interessierten wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken die Möglichkeit, ihre zum Teil sehr fachspezifischen Informationsressourcen einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit zu vermitteln. Neben Universalbibliotheken, wie z.B. die UB Oldenburg oder die SLUB Dresden haben bereits einige hochspezialisierte Informationseinrichtungen, wie die ZBMED in Köln und die TIB Hannover ihre Mitarbeit an der Deutschen Internetbibliothek im Rahmen der E-Mail-Auskunft signalisiert. Zu den inzwischen 20 neuen Teilnehmerbibliotheken gehören u. a. auch das Informationszentrum des Goethe-Instituts in München und die Schweizerische Landesbibliothek in Bern.

    "Seit dem 8. Mai 2007 ist b2i, das zentrale Wissenschaftsportal für die Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften, online (www.b2i.de). Sein Name "b2i" fasst die Anfangsbuchstaben der beteiligten drei Wissenschaftsdisziplinen zusammen. Das Fachportal wird von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) gefördert und kooperativ entwickelt von: - der Niedersächsischen Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen (SUB) als zuständiger Sondersammelgebietsbibliothek (Projektleitung), - dem Informationszentrum für Informationswissenschaft und -praxis (IZ) der Fachhochschule Potsdam, - dem Fachbereich Informationswissenschaften der Fachhochschule Potsdam, - dem Kompetenznetzwerkfür Bibliotheken (KNB) beim Deutschen Bibliotheksverband Berlin - und der Buchwissenschaft der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Nach dem Vorbild der virtuellen Fachbibliotheken bündelt b2i Fachinformation, Datenbanken und Bibliothekskataloge der Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften und macht sie über eine gemeinsame Oberfläche bequem und komfortabel zugänglich. Eine integrierte Metasuchfunktion ermöglicht die gleichzeitige Recherche in einer Vielzahl von Nachweisinstrumenten für gedruckte und elektronische Materialien, qualitätskontrollierten Internetressourcen und Fakteninformationen. Zum Service gehören außerdem Bestellmöglichkeiten für Monographien-, Zeitschriften- und Aufsatzliteratur sowie für elektronische Materialien, die als Datei oder Druckausgabe angefordert werden können. Damit wird b2i für Interessierte aus Wissenschaft, Studium und Praxis zu einem interdisziplinären "One-stop-shop" der Fachinformation. Auch Volltexte gehören zum Angebot von b2i. Eingebunden sind bereits jetzt der Potsdamer Volltextserver INFODATA eDepot und der GOEDOC-Dokumentenserver der SUB Göttingen. Thematisch erschlossene Nachweise auf Artikelebene bieten die informationswissenschaftliche Datenbank INFODATA und der spezifische Fachausschnitt "Informations-, Buch- und Bibliothekswesen" aus der Aufsatzdatenbank Online Contents (OLC-SSG). Für die Buch- und Bibliothekswissenschaft verbessert sich die Nachweissituation erheblich durch die Einbindung der nunmehr erstmals in elektronischer Form verfügbaren "Bibliographie zur Buch- und Bibliotheksgeschichte" (BBB) und des von Bernhard Fabian herausgegebenen "Handbuch der historischen Buchbestände", das in Form eines interaktiven Wikis kostenfrei zugänglich gemacht wird. Der "b2i Guide" enthält eine Sammlung von intellektuell erschlossenen, fachrelevanten Internetquellen, in die auch die Fachausschnitte aus der Elektronischen Zeitschriftenbibliothek (EZB) und des Datenbank-Informationssystems (DBIS) eingebunden sind. Beiträge zu aktuellen Fachthemen aus der Bibliotheksszene ergänzt das Bibliotheksportal des Kompetenznetzwerks für Bibliotheken."

    Seit Mai ist b2i, das zentrale Wissenschaftsportal für die Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften, online (www.b2i.de). Dies teilte die Fachhochschule Potsdam mit. Der Name »b2i« fasst die Anfangsbuchstaben der beteiligten drei Wissenschaftsdisziplinen (Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften) zusammen. Mit diesem Portal steht den drei Disziplinen zum ersten Mal ein umfassendes Angebot an Fachinformation mit bibliografischen Nachweisen und Zugang zu wissenschaftlichen Texten interdisziplinär zur Verfügung. Eine Reihe von Datenbanken wurde überhaupt erst im Zusammenhang mit dem Projekt erarbeitet beziehungsweise digitalisiert.
