    Abstract
    Die diesjährige Arbeitstagung der Europäischen Patentbibliotheken fand vom 31. Mai bis zum 3. Juni 2010 in Dresden statt und stand unter dem Motto: PATLIB 2010 - Patent Information - a Business tool. Veranstalter waren das Europäische Patentamt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Deutschen Patentamt und der Technischen Universität Dresden. Rund 250 Teilnehmer von 180 Patentbibliotheken aus 28 Ländern waren nach Dresden gekommen, um die Kooperation mit dem Amt und den Partnern weiter zu festigen, die zukünftige Entwicklung im Zeichen der Erweiterung ihrer Dienstleistungen und deren Qualitätsstandards zu diskutieren und aus Beispielen zu lernen, wie in Zukunft die Dienstleistungen noch effizienter gestaltet werden können.

    Hamburg, das Tor zur Welt, war in diesem Jahr Gastgeber für den 101. Deutschen Bibliothekartag. "Bibliotheken - Tore zur Welt des Wissens" lautete dementsprechend auch das Motto der Veranstaltung, die von 4730 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern vornehmlich aus Deutschland, aber auch aus vielen europäischen Nachbarstaaten sowie den USA besucht wurde. Rund 300 Vortragsveranstaltungen innerhalb von 10 Themenkreisen sowie etliche Arbeits- und Gremiensitzungen wurden vom 22. bis 25. Mai durchgeführt. Im Themenkreis "Neue Netze und Portale" war auch der "Treffpunkt Standardisierung" angesiedelt, den der Standardisierungsausschuss seit dem Jahr 2001, d.h. nunmehr zum elften Mal, angeboten hat und der unverändert sehr gut besucht war. Berndt Dugall, der Vorsitzende des Standardisierungsausschusses, führte durch den Vormittag und rief einleitend den Zuhörerinnen und Zuhörern die Anfänge dieser Veranstaltungsreihe beim Bibliothekartag in Bielefeld ins Gedächtnis.

    Abstract
    Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of the Helping Interdisciplinary Vocabulary Engineering (HIVE) system on the inter-indexer consistency of information professionals when assigning keywords to a scientific abstract. This study examined first, the inter-indexer consistency of potential HIVE users; second, the impact HIVE had on consistency; and third, challenges associated with using HIVE. Design/methodology/approach - A within-subjects quasi-experimental research design was used for this study. Data were collected using a task-scenario based questionnaire. Analysis was performed on consistency results using Hooper's and Rolling's inter-indexer consistency measures. A series of t-tests was used to judge the significance between consistency measure results. Findings - Results suggest that HIVE improves inter-indexing consistency. Working with HIVE increased consistency rates by 22 percent (Rolling's) and 25 percent (Hooper's) when selecting relevant terms from all vocabularies. A statistically significant difference exists between the assignment of free-text keywords and machine-aided keywords. Issues with homographs, disambiguation, vocabulary choice, and document structure were all identified as potential challenges. Research limitations/implications - Research limitations for this study can be found in the small number of vocabularies used for the study. Future research will include implementing HIVE into the Dryad Repository and studying its application in a repository system. Originality/value - This paper showcases several features used in HIVE system. By using traditional consistency measures to evaluate a semantic web technology, this paper emphasizes the link between traditional indexing and next generation machine-aided indexing (MAI) tools.

    Abstract
    EuropeanaLocal war ein dreijähriges Best-Practice-Netzwerk-Projekt der EU mit dem Ziel, nachhaltige Aggregatoreninfrastrukturen für das Einbringen von lokalen und regionalen Inhalten in die europäische digitale Bibliothek Europeana aufzubauen. Die Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB) entwickelte als deutscher Partner im Netzwerk den Aggregator EuropeanaLocal-Deutschland, der bis zum Mai 2011 über 90.000 digitale Objekte von 29 Archiven, Bibliotheken, Museen und audiovisuellen Archiven für die Europeana bereitstellte. Am 30. Mai 2011 endete das EU-Projekt, was Anlass für diese Rückschau ist.

    Abstract
    Im Mai 2012 hat der Standardisierungsausschuss den Umstieg auf den Standard Resource Description and Access (RDA) beschlossen. Das an der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek (DNB) bereits seit Längerem angesiedelte Projekt RDA wurde daraufhin erweitert. Die DNB leitet und koordiniert die Vorbereitungen zur Durchführung der Implementierung in Deutschland, Österreich und Teilen der Schweiz.

    5. Schulungsunterlagen und Schulungen: Dieses Arbeitspaket beginnt im Oktober 2013 und endet mit dem Abschluss des Projekts. Es umfasst sowohl die Erstellung und Erprobung von Schulungsunterlagen als auch die Durchführung von Schulungen und Infoveranstaltungen. Die Ausbildungseinrichtungen sollen in diesen Prozess einbezogen werden. Ein öffentliches Wiki der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek informiert über den Standard RDA auf internationaler und nationaler Ebene.     Abstract
    Der vorliegende Beitrag1 ist ein Versuch, Eigenschaften von Schöns generativer Metapher auf das "statische" Resultat als Fachterminologie, entstanden durch Übertragung eines wissenschaftlichen Bereiches in einen anderen, anzuwenden. Metapher gilt in diesem Bereich als wissenstransferierendes Verfahren der Übertragung von Konzepten einer Disziplin auf eine andere. Weiterhin wird Metapher als Teil des sprachlichen Jargons in der informationswissenschaftlichen und bibliothekarischen Praxis thematisiert. Ein kurzer Durchgang des dänischen bibliotheksmetaphorischen Wortschatzes zeigt u. a., dass in dieser Domäne ein "ontologisches Erfahrungsgefälle" von abstrakt-konkret wirksam ist, da viele bibliothekstechnische, computer-interaktionsbezogene und informationswissenschaftliche Begriffe mit Hilfe konkreterer Konzepte aus besser verstandenen Domänen, z. B. dem Bereich der Nahrungsaufnahme, erklärt werden. Allerdings scheint auch hier der Anteil "entmetaphorisierter", ehemals metaphorischer Ausdrücke hoch zu sein, wie es bei "abgeschliffenen" Ausdrücken auch in der Gemeinsprache der Fall ist. Die Analyse wird abgerundet mit einem Ausblick auf ein Forschungsgebiet, das in dezidierter Weise von der konzeptuellen Ergiebigkeit des Metaphernbegriffs in der Untersuchung der terminologischen Wissenschaftsbeziehungen Gebrauch macht
