    Abstract
The classification system of the Warburg Institute library, London, UK, is considered. First, a brief review of the scholary work of Aby Warburg and the history of this library is given to illustrate the background of the classification. The classification is described and its basic features are clarified with examples. Finally, the classification of the Warburg Institute library is contrasted with ordinary classification thinking in library and information science

    Abstract
Description of the history and development of the home-made Regensburg Classification Scheme since 1964 and its notation which has been built according to the one of the Library of Congress. Although not intended in the beginning, the scheme has become the common tool for a number of Bavarian libraries since 1970 and also of libraries in Switzerland (since 1986) and the socalled new German states (after 1990). The individual schedules are listed and also the classification aids published with the scheme's progressing. Concludingly future plans are outlined

    Abstract
As medical students, learning to do a Complete History and Physical is one of the first great challenges in the transition from being a classroom student to being a clinical trainee on the hospital wards. The Complete History and Physical, summarized in Table 1, is a highly structured, comprehensive data gathering exercise which combines open-ended interviewing techniques, letting the patient `tell the story' of his or her illness, with focused, orderly questioning about virtually every aspect of that patient's life which might have bearing on their health. A key feature of this procedure is that, with the exception of gender-specific questions such as an obstetric history in a man, every patient is asked every question, to ensure that the database is complete. Until it is committed to memory, many students work from a detailed list of questions, often many pages in length, based on recommended examples found in widely used textbooks (Walker & Hurst, 1976, Degowin & Degowin, 1976). This exhaustive initial data gathering activity is only the first step in the process. Once all the data have been collected and recorded, the student must organize and categorize the information into his or her Impression, a complete tabulation of the patient's health problems and possible explanations for them (Differential Diagnosis).

    Abstract
A national multi-gigabyte-per-second research and education network known as the NREN is to be established by 1996, according to the High Performance Computing Act of 1991 passed in Dec 1991. NREN, referred to as the information highway is expected to provide scientific, educational, and economic benefits for the US, and to serve as the basis for an all-encompassing National Information Infrastructure available to all citizens. An annotated bibliography presenting a representation of the literature that provides a history of the NREN as well as a sense of the evolving concerns and visions of this exciting revolution of the Information Age. Includes items that offer general and specific background information, and visions, viewpoints, and issues related to the NREN

    Abstract
Part 1 of a series of articles, exploring the concept of 'the work' in cataloguing practice, which attempts to construct a definition of the term based on AACR theory and practice. The study begins with a consideration of the objects of the catalogue, their history and the evidence that bears on the question of the degree to which the user needs access to the work, as opposed to a particular edition of the work

    Abstract
The paper presents a coword-analysis-based system called SDOC which is able to pupport the intellectual work of an end-user who is searching for information in a bibliographic database. This is done by presenting its thematical structure as a map of keyword clusters (themes) on a graphical user interface. These mapping facilities are demonstrated on the basis of the research field Social History given by a set of documents from the social science literature database SOLIS. Besides the traditional way of analysing a coword map as a strategic diagram, the notion of cluster relationships analysis is introduced which provides an adequate interpretation of links between themes
