    Abstract
    The library community in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland achieved a common goal at the end of 2015. After more than two years of intensive preparation, the international standard RDA was implemented and the practical work has now started. The article describes the project in terms of the political and organizational situation in the three countries, and points out the objectives which have been achieved as well as the work which is still outstanding. An overview is given of the initial efforts to align special materials with RDA in the German-speaking countries, and the tasks associated with the specific requirements arising from the multilingual nature of Switzerland are described. Furthermore, the article reports on the current strategic developments in the international RDA committees like the RDA Steering Committee (RSC) and the European RDA Interest Group (EURIG).

    Abstract
    The focus of the project "coli-conc" lies in semi-automatic creation of mappings between different KOS in general and the two important library classification schemes in particular - Dewey classification system (DDC) and Regensburg classification system (RVK). In the year 2000, the national libraries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland adopted DDC in an endeavor to develop a nation-wide classification scheme. But historically, in the German speaking regions, the academic libraries have been using their own home-grown systems, the most prominent and popular being the RVK. However, with the launch of DDC, building concordances between DDC and RVK has become an imperative, although it is still rare. The delay in building comprehensive concordances between these two systems has been because of major challenges posed by the sheer largeness of these two systems (38.000 classes in DDC and ca. 860.000 classes in RVK), the strong disparity in their respective structure, the variation in the perception and representation of the concepts. The challenge is compounded geometrically for any manual attempt in this direction. Although there have been efforts on automatic mappings (OAEI Library Track 2012 -- 2014 and e.g. Pfeffer 2013) in the recent years; such concordances carry the risks of inaccurate mappings, and the approaches are rather more suitable for mapping suggestions than for automatic generation of concordances (Lauser 2008; Reiner 2010). The project "coli-conc" will facilitate the creation, evaluation, and reuse of mappings with a public collection of concordances and a web application of mapping management. The proposed presentation will give an introduction to the tools and standards created and planned in the project "coli-conc". This includes preliminary work on DDC concordances (Balakrishnan 2013), an overview of the software concept, technical architecture (Voß 2015) and a demonstration of the Cocoda web application.

    Abstract
    Section 11: To argue that fighting large search engines and plagiarism slice-by-slice by using dedicated servers combined by one hub could eventually decrease the importance of other global search engines. Section 12: To argue that global search engines are an area that cannot be left to the free market, but require some government control or at least non-profit institutions. We will mention other areas where similar if not as glaring phenomena are visible. Section 13: We will mention in passing the potential role of virtual worlds, such as the currently overhyped system "second life". Section 14: To elaborate and try out a model for knowledge workers that does not require special search engines, with a description of a simple demonstrator.     Die Wertung fällt dennoch leicht: Es handelt sich um ein Entwicklungsplagiat, weil Konzepte in wesentlichen Teilen identisch sind und das Ausmaß der Übernahme von Vorarbeiten nicht nur nicht ausgewiesen, sondern gezielt verschleiert wird. Anders lassen sich die Änderungen in der Ministerialbroschüre und der verschämte Neutext kaum deuten. "Made in Germany" ist das jedenfalls nicht. Sondern "researched & developed in Austria" und nur "modified in Germany". Doppelt anrüchig wird das Plagiat zuerst durch die Beteiligung der öffentlichen Hand: Das Wirtschaftsministerium wirbt als Auftraggeber des Konzeptes und als Herausgeber der Broschüre. Insofern darf man spöttisch von einem Staatsplagiat sprechen, wenigstens aber von staatlicher Wissenshehlerei. Durchaus problematisch ist der Umstand, dass hier mit fremden Federn in der Praxisberatung Geld verdient wird. Damit erlangt der Vorgang eine wirtschaftsrechtliche Perspektive - vom unlauteren Wettbewerb durch Produktnachahmung bis hin zur gezielten Nutzung fremden Mitarbeiterwissens. Pikant ist das allemal. Noch schöner: Eine rheinland-pfälzische Landeswissensbilanz lehnt sich eng an die Bundeswissensbilanz an - und setzt damit das Plagiat fort, mit noch eigentümlicheren Zitierungen. Daran wird das eigentliche Übel des Wissenschaftsplagiates sichtbar: Das persönliche Fehlverhalten verblasst nach einiger Zeit; doch die Plagiate bleiben in Umlauf und "pflanzen sich fort". Aber all das soll die Freude in der nächsten Woche nicht trüben. Es ist kein Spielverderber in Sicht, der konfrontativ fragen könnte: "Wer hat's erfunden?""

    Abstract
    Dewey Decimal Classification and Relative Index, Edition 22 (DDC 22) will be issued simultaneously in print and web versions in July 2003. The new edition is the first full print update to the Dewey Decimal Classification system in seven years-it includes several significant updates and many new numbers and topics. DDC 22 also features some fundamental structural changes that have been introduced with the goals of promoting classifier efficiency and improving the DDC for use in a variety of applications in the web environment. Most importantly, the content of the new edition has been shaped by the needs and recommendations of Dewey users around the world. The worldwide user community has an important role in shaping the future of the DDC.
