    Abstract
Discusses the importance and utility of a thesaurus of concepts to provide logical support for multilingualism. Deals in particular with the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Thesaurus,a nd the work of the IEC Thesaurus Working Group, consisting of specialists of the Research Institute in Electrical Engineering (ICPE) and the University Politehnica of Bucharest. Describes how this group contributed to the thesaurus and implemented the multilingual database required by the editing and updating of multilingual database required by the editing and updating of multilingual dictionaries in electrical engineering

    Abstract
The theory of diffusion can be successfully applied to scientific information dissemination by identifying space with a series of successive authors, and potential (temperature) with the interest of new authors towards earlier published papers, measured by the number of citations. As the total number of citation equals the number of references, the conservation law is fulfilled and Fourier's parabolic differential equation can be applied

    Abstract
Poses the concept of information culture, indispensable to any society in transition. Information culture is the basis for access to information of any country's citizens, turning them into active contributors to their country's progress. Information culture is the key to professional competence, a dynamic process necessary to anticipate change and evolve with it. Information culture becomes operational following the merger of infromation management and 'group intelligence', mediated by communication platforms which information networks represents

    Abstract
The automation of Bucharest University Central Library involved the compilation of a dictionary of terms to facilitate postcoordinated searching in accordance with the UDC notation attached to every bibliographic record. Describes the project and demonstrates why a multilingual UDC based thesaurus is considered as ideal indexing and searching tool. The experiment, which applied to Class 8 of UDC (Linguisitcs and Literature), illustrates how all UDC tables can be successfully used to build a thesaurus and the ways in which their limitations can be overcome by a thesaurus

    Abstract
Emphasises how important it is for documentalists to be aware of the mechanics of text. The documentalist cannot ignore the meaning of intertext, infratext, context and extratext, identifying the author indentification of document authorship, based on infratextual analyses. Emphasis the role played by hypertext in information development, printing out the possibilities introduced by new technology.
