- "Mit der "Enzyklopädie zur Wirtschaftsinformatik" steht Wissenschaftlern, Studenten und Praktikern eine Online-Plattform mit fundierten, geprüften und zitierfähigen Inhalten gratis zur Verfügung. Unter Leitung der Wirtschaftsinformatik-Professoren Karl Kurbel, Jörg Becker, Norbert Gronau, Elmar Sinz und Lena Stuhl wurde das Online-Lexikon als Open-Access-Publikation entwickelt und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Oldenbourg Wissenschaftsverlag veröffentlicht. Über 170 Autoren haben bisher zu fast 1000 Stichworten mehr als 400 Einträge verfasst. Die Autoren sind Professoren, Habilitanden und Nachwuchswissenschaftler aus dem Umfeld der Wirtschaftsinformation sowie Experten aus der Praxis. Die Inhalte der Enzyklopädie werden ständig erweitert, so dass im Zuge von user generated content nach und nach ein umfassendes Nachschlagewerk entstehen wird, das den jeweils aktuellen, auch kontrovers diskutierten Forschungsstand spiegelt."

- Abstract
- Eine Vielzahl von Bibliotheken aus dem Bereich der Obersten Bundesbehörden wird ihren Kunden bis Ende des Jahres 2003 ein gemeinsames Bibliotheksportal mit einem behördenübergreifenden Informations- und Dienstleistungsangebot präsentieren. Die Mitarbeiter in den Behörden bekommen über eine einheitlich strukturierte Portaloberfläche einen koordinierten Zugang zu dem breiten Spektrum an Informationsinhalten und -dienste, das die beteiligten Bibliotheken anzubieten haben. Ziel der Bibliotheken ist es, mit dem Bibliotheksportal ein Kompetenzzentrum für die Obersten Bundesbehörden im IVBB zu schaffen, das sich durch eine benutzerfreundliche, effektive und von einer hohen Qualität geprägten Informationsversorgung auszeichnet.

- Abstract
- MedPilot (www.medpilot.de) ist ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt der Deutschen Zentralbibliothek für Medizin (ZBMed) und des Deutschen Instituts für Medizinische Dokumentation und Information (DIMDI). Im Rahmen der Virtuellen Fachbibliotheken wird MedPilot von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) gefördert. MedPilot basiert auf der Software SISIS-Elektra, welche im Rahmen des Projektes weiterentwickelt wurde. Projektstart im August 2001, Testbetrieb seit Juli 2002, offizielle Eröffnung im Februar 2003

- Abstract
- Das Internetportal EVIFA Dieser Beitrag wird sich mit der konkreten Umsetzung des vom Sondersammelgebiet Volks- und Völkerkunde (SSG) an der Universitätsbibliothek (UB) der Humboldt-Universität (HU) zu Berlin initiierten EVIFA-Portals und seinen Modulen auseinandersetzen. Es interessiert hier vor allem die technische Umsetzung inhaltlicher Überlegungen und Vorgaben, sowie deren Rückwirkung auf inhaltliche Gesichtspunkte. Dieser Aspekt soll betont werden, weil von der Funktionalität der technischen Architektur in großem Maße die Nutzung und Akzeptanz innerhalb der wissenschaftlichen Community abhängt. Die Virtuelle Fachbibliothek Ethnologie wurde im Jahr 2001 von der UB der Humboldt-Universität beantragt. Am 1. Januar 2003 startete das von der DFG für zunächst zwei Jahre geförderte Projekt und war schon im Oktober 2003 das erste Mal als Portal EVIFA online. Die Zielgruppe ist in erster Linie das wissenschaftliche Personal der Fachrichtungen Volkskunde/Europäische Ethnologie/Empirische Kulturwissenschaft/Kulturanthropologie und der Völkerkunde/Ethnologie, soll aber darüber hinaus für die Nachbardisziplinen und museale Institutionen ebenso informativ und nutzbar sein. Um auch international genutzt und wahrgenommen zu werden, hat man sich zu einer zweisprachigen, deutsch-englischen Online-Ausgabe entschlossen. Beide wissenschaftlichen Richtungen, Volks- wie Völkerkunde, sind in außergewöhnlichem Maße interdisziplinär orientiert und überschneiden sich in ihren Forschungsthemen sowie in ihren Methoden deutlich, sodass es inhaltlich sinnvoll ist, eine gemeinsame Virtuelle Fachbibliothek anzubieten.
