    Abstract
    Konzeptionelle Grundlagen Das Jahr 2006 stand für die Bundestagsbibliothek im Zeichen der Retrokonversion. Die Daten von 839.000 Karten des Verfasser- und Titelkatalogs des Gülichschen Katalogsystems, die den Bestand bis 1986 nachweisen, wurden maschinenlesbar gemacht und in den elektronischen Katalog der Bibliothek eingespielt. Damit ist nunmehr der Gesamtbestand der Bibliothek sowohl im Intranet des Bundestages als auch im Internet recherchierbar. Mit der Retrokonversion verfolgte die Bundestagsbibliothek zwei zentrale Ziele. Erstens sollte eine integrierte Recherche von Alt- und Neudaten ermöglicht werden, zweitens sollte der Bestand bis 1986 mit demselben Komfort direkt entleih-bar, vormerkbar und verlängerbar sein wie der Bestand ab 1987. Aufgrund der finanziellen Rahmenbedingungen des Projekts einerseits und der Ausgangssituation im Kartenkatalog andererseits mussten bezüglich der Suchmöglichkeiten Unterschiede zwischen Alt- und Neudaten festgelegt werden. Analog zu der beim Aufbau des HEBIS-Retrokataloges verfolgten Philosophie wurde seitens der Bibliothek entschieden, dass man die zu konvertierenden Daten über die wichtigsten Sucheinstiege wie Verfasser, Hauptsachtitel und Erscheinungsjahr finden können sollte. Ein Sucheinstieg über Schlagwörter wurde hingegen des seinerzeit für die Sacherschließung verwendeten, nicht-natürlichsprachlichen Vokabulars und der zahlreichen Abkürzungen auf den Katalogkarten wegen als nicht sinnvoll erachtet. Im Unterschied zum HEBIS-Retroprojekt entschied sich die Bundestagsbibliothek jedoch, Alt- und Neudaten in einer gemeinsamen Datenbank zusammenzuführen. Der Vorteil der integrierten Recherche überwog die Bedenken, dass die Daten auf der Grundlage zweier unterschiedlicher, formaler Regelwerke (Gülich/RAK-PB) erstellt worden waren.

    Abstract
    Der Wikipedia-Experte Jakob Voß plädiert dafür, Opacs mit Inhalten aus Wikis, Weblogs und Bookmarking-Diensten anzureichern Auf dem Leipziger Bibliothekskongress hat Jakob Voß einen Vortrag zum Thema »Soziale Software - Hype oder Verheißung?« gehalten - und damit eine der bestbesuchten Veranstaltungen eingeleitet. Der 28-Jährige hat Informatik, Bibliothekswissenschaft und Philosophie in Chemnitz und Berlin studiert und arbeitet als Entwickler beim Gemeinsamen Bibliotheksverbund GBV in Göttingen. Seit 2002 gehörter zum Vorstand von Wikimedia Deutschland, einem »Verein zur Förderung des freien Wissens«, dessen prominentestes Förderprojekt die Web-Enzyklopädie Wikipedia ist. BuB-Redakteurin Julia Hellmich hat Jakob Voß in Leipzig interviewt.

    Abstract
    Der Alte Systematische Katalog der Universitätsbibliothek der TU Wien ist ein Bandkatalog und verzeichnet in einem Grundwerk (erschienen 19011907) und mehreren Nachträgen (insgesamt ca. 80 Bände) den Bestand der Universitätsbibliothek der TU Wien von der Gründung 1815 bis zum Erwerbungsjahr 1965. Da der Schlagwortkatalog erst ab 1930 geführt wurde, bildet der Alte Systematische Katalog die einzige Möglichkeit der thematischen Suche im Bestand der Universitätsbibliothek der TU Wien für die Zeit vor 1930. Insgesamt weist er etwa 170.000 Bände nach. Die Idee einer Digitalisierung des Katalogs ist schon einige Jahre alt. Am weitesten gedieh ein Projekt während eines von HR Mag. Karl Stebegg (der auch wichtige Vorarbeiten für das Einstannen des Katalogs geleistet hatte) geleiteten Praktikums "Digitalisierung alter Bibliothekskataloge" von Herrn Oliver Lobschat, einem Studenten der Universität München und Praktikanten an der UBTUW (http://www.ub.tuwien.ac.at/bandkatalog). Im Rahmen dieses Praktikums wurde die Digitalisierung und die Web-Präsentation der Gruppe Philosophie des Bandkataloges realisiert. Die dabei vorgenommene intellektuelle Durchsicht und Korrektur der gescannten Vorlagen ist zwar ein ideales Modell, würde aber bei Anwendung auf den Gesamtkatalog unsere personellen und finanziellen Ressourcen sprengen. Im Rahmen des von der TU Wien initiierten und von uns realisierten Projektes "TU-Dissertationen Online" (http://www.ub.tuwien.ac.at/ sysbib/diss-projekt.pdf) sammelten wir weitere Erfahrungen. Die elektronische Version unseres Alten Systematischen Katalogs entstand dann als Nebenprodukt des Einscannens der Dissertationen der TU Wien. Mit dem Scannen und der OCR beauftragten wir die Wiener Firma Business Imaging Solutions & Services Gesellschaft m.b.H. (BISS).
