    Abstract
    Wenn man die Recherche in Suchmaschinen als Vorbereitung einer Entscheidung betrachtet, kommt diesen Suchwerkzeugen aufgrund der Masse der an sie ge­stellten Anfragen eine nicht zu unterschätzende Bedeutung zu. Macht haben Suchmaschinen vor allem dadurch, dass sie entscheiden, was ein Nutzer zu seiner Suchanfrage zu sehen bekommt, verstärkt durch die ­Entscheidung, an welcher Stelle und in welcher Darstellungsform die Ergebnisse angezeigt werden. Im Suchprozess gibt es zahlreiche Stellen, an denen das Design der Suchmaschine die Entscheidung des Nutzers für oder gegen bestimmte Ergebnisse beeinflusst. Zusammen mit der externen Beeinflussung der Suchergebnisse durch sog. Suchmaschinenoptimierung ergibt sich eine Steuerung der Nutzer hin zu bestimmten Ergebnissen und ­Ergebnisformen. Der Artikel zeigt, wo Suchmaschinen Einfluss auf unsere Entscheidungsvorbereitung bzw. Entscheidungsfindung nehmen, an welchen Punkten dem durch einen bewussteren Umgang mit den Suchmaschinen entgegengewirkt werden kann, aber auch wo die Grenzen der eigenen Entscheidungsmöglichkeiten liegen.

    Abstract
    In diesem Kapitel wird beschrieben, wie Suchmaschinen Suchanfragen interpretieren können, um letztendlich den Nutzern besser auf ihren Kontext zugeschnittene Ergebnisse liefern zu können. Nach einer Diskussion der Notwendigkeit und der Einsatzmöglichkeiten des Query Understanding wird aufgezeigt, auf welcher Datenbasis und an welchen Ansatzpunkten Suchanfragen interpretiert werden können. Dann erfolgt eine Erläuterung der Interpretationsmöglichkeiten anhand der Suchanfragen-Facetten von Calderon-Benavides et al. (2010), welcher sich eine Diskussion der Verfahren zur Ermittlung der Facetten anschließt.

    Dieses Whitepaper beschäftigt sich mit der Definition und Bewertung von Faktoren, die eine hohe Rangkorrelation-Koeffizienz mit organischen Suchergebnissen aufweisen und dient dem Zweck der tieferen Analyse von Suchmaschinen-Algorithmen. Die Datenerhebung samt Auswertung bezieht sich auf Ranking-Faktoren für Google-Deutschland im Jahr 2014.     Abstract
    Worin besteht die Aufgabe der Bibliotheken im digitalen Zeitalter? Wie können sie sich aufstellen gegenüber Google und den anderen Suchmaschinen? Am Beispiel der Organisation einer digitalen Musiksammlung soll die Bedeutung der Metadaten für die Ordnung der digitalen Informationen veranschaulicht werden. Auf die Behauptung einer "neuen digitalen Unordnung" wird mit der Forderung nach einer neuen digitalen Ordnung geantwortet. Als Bibliothekare sind wir aufgefordert, auch relevante Internetquellen durch Metadaten zu erschließen. Dafür muss der Aufwand für die Bearbeitung der konventionellen Medien stark eingeschränkt werden.

    Abstract
    Dieser Fachbeitrag behandelt die Nachweise paralleler Druck- und Online-Ausgaben in Bibliothekskatalogen und Dokumenten-Suchmaschinen. Der Nachweis hybrider Publikationen, d. h. von parallel als Druck- und als Online-Ausgabe erschienenen Veröffentlichungen in Bibliothekskatalogen und Datenbanken ist von großer Diversität gekennzeichnet. Auch der direkte Zugang über die Kataloge zum im Netz frei verfügbaren elektronischen Gegenstück einer Printpublikation ist nicht selbstverständlich. Am Beispiel ausgewählter hybrider Publikationen wird gezeigt, wie Bibliotheken, Verbünde und Suchmaschinen in Deutschland und weltweit damit umgehen. In einer weitreichenden Analyse haben die Autorinnen die unterschiedlichen Handhabungen analysiert und kritisch bewertet. Die Arbeit gibt einerseits die Ergebnisse der Recherche wieder und richtet andererseits das Augenmerk auf die Notwendigkeit einheitlicher Katalogisierungsrichtlinien für hybride Publikationen.
