- Abstract
- Klassifikationen sind in Bibliotheken heute wichtiger als je zuvor. Sie eignen sich nicht nur hervorragend für die physische Anordnung von Büchern und anderen Medienwerken, sondern sind genauso erfolgreich dafür einsetzbar, große Datenmengen in Katalogen und anderen Nachweisinstrumenten zu strukturieren und sinnvoll nutzbar zu machen. Der Band gibt zunächst eine Einführung in die bibliothekarische Klassifikationstheorie und stellt dann die in Bibliotheken des deutschen Sprachraums überregional eingesetzten Universalklassifikationen vor. Er informiert außerdem über die Nutzung von Klassifikationen in Katalogen und Suchsystemen sowie die Frage der semantischen Interoperabilitätim Kontext der Wissensorganisation. Ziel des Bandes ist es, eine Übersicht über die gegenwärtig in Bibliotheken des deutschen Sprachraums überregional eingesetzten Universalklassifikationen zu geben. Die Fülle an vorhandenen Klassifikationen bedingt die thematische Konzentration auf Universalklassifikationen; reine Fachklassifikationen sind nicht Gegenstand der Darstellung, finden jedoch in einzelnen Beiträgen Erwähnung.

- "Seit 2009 wird die Systematik für Bibliotheken (SfB) in jährlichen Updates unter www.sfb-online.de veröffentlicht. Für das Update 2013 wurde die Fachsystematik »Medizin« überarbeitet und neu strukturiert. Viele für Öffentliche Bibliotheken nicht mehr relevante Stellen wurden gestrichen, wie zum Beispiel die Raumfahrtmedizin, andere, wie zum Beispiel die für Ambulante Hilfs- und Pflegedienste, ergänzt. Die Zusatzvereinbarung für Kinder- und Jugendliteratur wurden um die Bereiche Fantasy und Krimi erweitert. Die gesamte aktualisierte SfB sowie Ansprechpartner für Fragen, Anregungen und Kritik sind unter www.sfb-online.de zu finden. Die SfB wird in Kooperation von der Büchereizentrale Schleswig Holstein, der Stadtbibliothek Bremen, der Stadtbücherei Frankfurt am Main und der Stadtbibliothek Hannover gepflegt. Ein weiterer wichtiger Partner ist die ekz, die sich sowohl an der fachlichen Weiterentwicklung der SfB beteiligt als auch das Hosting für die SfB-online leistet."

- Abstract
- Die Einführung macht mit den Grundbegriffen der bibliothekarischen Klassifikationstheorie und -praxis sowie ausgewählten Bibliotheksklassifikationen bekannt. Eingangs wird die Problemstellung, für die Klassifikationen eine Lösung bieten sollen, umrissen. Dann werden anhand von Fragen die Aspekte zur Entwicklung und Beurteilung von Klassifikationen allgemein und Aufstellungssystematiken im Besonderen umrissen (Sachgerechtheit und Zielgruppenentsprechung, Gliederung, Schlüsselung und Normung, Notation, Klassenbeschreibung und Terminologie, Umfang und Erweiterbarkeit, Anwendungsregeln, Register). Auch organisatorische Aspekte der Anwendung von Klassifikationen werden umrissen. Kurz beschrieben werden ausgewählte Klassifikationen: Die internationale Dezimalklassifikation DK und die DDC, die Regensburger Verbundklassifikation RVK, die Basisklassifikation, die SfB, die KAB, die ASB. Es folgen ausgewählte Literaturhinweise. Ferner werden Übungen zum Klassifizieren ausgewählter Titel mit Hinweisen auf Möglichkeiten zur Selbstüberprüfung und zur Notationsrevision gegeben

In den anderen Fächern sind vor allem Aktualisierungen vorgenommen worden, so dass der Änderungsaufwand für die Anwenderbibliotheken gering ist. Zusätzlich zu den Fachsystematiken wird es auf Wunsch zahlreicher Anwender im Anhang Mustersystematiken zur Erschließung der Literatur einer Stadt und einer Region sowie eine Änderungsliste geben. - Abstract
- Dieser Beitrag behandelt die in Österreich und Deutschland in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken weit verbreiteten Klassifikationen. Dies sind in Deutschland im Wesentlichen die Systematik für Bibliotheken (SfB), die Allgemeine Systematik für Öffentliche Bibliotheken (ASB), die daraus entwickelte Systematik der Stadtbibliothek Duisburg (SSD), die Klassifikation für Allgemeinbibliotheken (KAB) sowie die beiden konfessionell geprägten und verwendeten Klassifikationen Sachbuchsystematik für Katholische öffentliche Büchereien (SKB) und Systematik für evangelische Büchereien (SEB). In Österreich wird weitestgehend die Österreichische Systematik für öffentliche Bibliotheken (ÖSÖB) verwendet. Diese Klassifikationen werden unter dem Gesichtspunkt ihrer formalen Eigenschaften (Hierarchien, Klassenbeschreibungen) und unter der Fragestellung ihrer inhaltlichen Eignung für den Anwendungsbereich untersucht.
