- Abstract
- Einführend Kurzdarstellung der gegenstandsbezogenen, analytischen Begriffstheorie und ihrer Implikationen beim Aufbau von Begriffs- und Definitionssystemen. Daraus ableitend folgen einige wissenschaftstheoretische Überlegungen zum Gegenstand der Sozialwissenschaften, ihrer Ausprägungen in einzelnen Wissensgebieten und deren Zusammenhang mit anderen Wissensgebieten sowie auch ihre entsprechenden Abgrenzungen. Anschließende Darstellung eines Versuchs, die Probleme der sozialwissenschaftlichen Sprachschöpfungen oder sprachlichen Übernahmen und deren Begriffe durch eine entsprechend vorgegebene Methodik zu bewältigen mit einem Hinweis auf die Möglichkeit, wie Begriffskultur in den Sozialwissenschaften zu verstehen und zu verwirklichen ist. - Abstract
- Moderne Lehr-Lern-Technologien führen zu weitreichenden Veränderungen im Bildungswesen. Gleichzeitig wirft ihr einsatz neue fragen auf, z.B. hinsichtlich des hohen Erstellungs- und Pflegeaufwandes sowie planerisch-organisatorischer Probleme in den Hochschulen. Anknüpfend an die HRK-Empfehlungen werden insbesondere folgende Fragen aufgegriffen: Information über verfügbare Lehrprogramme; die Rolle von Rechen-/Medienzentren und Bibliotheken; die inhaltliche Verantwortung der Fachbereiche; sinnvolle Einstiegsfelder medialer Lehrangebote; Kooperation und Wettbewerb zwischen den Hochschulen; Erweiterung der Entscheidungs- und Handlungsautonomie der Hochschulen; finanzierungsbedingungen und Anreize für die Erstellung medialer Lehrprogramme. Zusammenfassend ist darauf hinzuweisen, daß Medienlehre hohe Potentiale für das Selbstlernen und die Anpassung an individuelle Lernbedingungen enthält, die konkrete Umsetzung jedoch neue realistische Konzepte erfordert

Was sind die Hintergründe dieses Spektakels? Ist das WWW wirklich der Vorreiter der globalen Kommunikation, als der es vielfach gepriesen wird? - Abstract
- Kanadische Kolleginnen haben eine Evaluierungsmethode entwickelt, mit welcher die Qualität des Auskunftsdienstes komplexer beurteilt werden kann als bisher und die darüberhinaus konkrete Hinweise gibt, wie der Auskunftsdienst verbessert werden könnte. Hierbei werden die Methoden Test und verdeckte Beobachtung kombiniert. Kriterium für die Beurteilung des Qualität des Auskunftsdienstes ist nicht die Zahl der richtig beantworteten Fragen, sondern die Zufriedenheit der Benutzer, und die hängt mehr als man erwarten könnte, von der Qualität der Interaktion im Auskunftsdienst ab. Diese kanadischen Erfahrungen wurden bei einer entsprechenden Evaluierung im Stuttgarter Raum bestätigt, die von Studierenden der HBI Stuttgart durchgeführt wurde. In weniger als 50% der Testfälle kam es zu einer nützlichen bzw. zufriedenstellenden Antwort. Dabei spielten mangelnde kommunikative Kompetenz und die fehlende Interviewkompetenz eine besonders große Rolle

- Das Management von Daten, Information und wissen prägt die aktuelle Theorie und Praxis unternehmerischen Handelns. Der hier gewählte Einstieg in die theoretische Diskussion bildet der klassische Ansatz von I. Nonaka und H. Takeuchi über kreative Prozesse im Umgang mit der Wissensressource in Unternehmen. Es wird dabei auf Rezeption und Kritik dieses Ansatzes durch G. Schreyögg, Chr. Noss, D.B. Bürgel, A. Zeller und P. Reinmöller eingegangen. Im zweiten Teil, der sich mit der Praxis des Wissensmanagements befaßt, werden Beispiele aus Nonaka/Takeuchi sowie aus den von Th. Davenport und L. Prusak in ihrem Buch 'Working knowledge' (1997) analysierten Fällen aufgeführt. Die Darstellung schließt mit Hinweisen auf deutsche Unternehmen sowie auf Veranstaltungen und Websites zu diesem Thema. Der Ausblick gibt Auskunft über die Bedeutung von Wissensmanagement in der FH Stuttgart (HBI)

- Abstract
- In den vergangenen Jahren hat die Bereitstellung und Verwendung von Information in unserer Gesellschaft einen immer höheren Stellenwert erlangt. Die professionelle Informationsbeschaffung und -verarbeitung ist unverzichtbarer Bestandteil des gesellschaftlichen Lebens. - Abstract
- Nachdem das Forschungsnetz Internet weltweit eine enorme Zuwachsrate aufweist und stets neue Angebote im elektronischen Informationsraum auftauchen, ist aus Benutzersicht ein wachsendes bedürfnis nach Hilfsmitteln zur Orientierung im Netz anzumelden. Neben Navigationshilfen wie Gopher und World Wide Web sind dür einen gezielten Einstieg Themenbäume (subject trees), fachspezifische Server und spezielle Diskussionslisten (Mailing lists, Newsgroups) von große Bedeutung. Es werden Beispiele für den Landwirtschaftsbereich vorgestellt. Um das deutschsprachige Angebot effizient nutzen zu können, schlägt der Autor vor, einen Wegweiser-Dienst für agrawissenschaftliche Information, AGUILDE, zu schaffen
