- "Was ist Belletristik? Haben Homer, Vergil, Dante, Shakespeare und Goethe, um nur einige europäische Klassiker zu nennen, Belletristik verfaßt? Ebenso Klopstock, Lessing und Wieland, um weitere deutsche Autoren zu nennen, Herder und Schiller oder Hölderlin und Kleist? Auch George, Hofmannsthal und Rilke oder Heinrich Mann, Döblin und Feuchtwanger? Kann man sie als Belletristen bezeichnen? Nach den Auffassungen einiger einflußreicher Bibliothekare und Bibliographen anscheinend ja! Und was ist Belletristik heute, einige Jahrzehnte nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg? Sind Böll, Grass, Uwe Johnson, der 1984 gestorben ist, Siegfried Lenz und Martin Walser, um wiederum nur einige stellvertretend zu nennen, wirklich Verfasser von Belletristik? Kann man Literatur von fachkundiger Seite so mißverstehen und herabwürdigen? Anscheinend ja!"

- Das skizzierte Modell verbaler Sacherschließung ist zugeschnitten auf die Erfordernisse des konventionellen Schlagwortkatalogs. - Abstract
- In den Arbeiten dieses Sammelbandes wird die Erkenntnistheorie des 'radikalen Konstruktivismus' anschaulich und folgerichtig entwickelt. In Untersuchungen zu Sprache und Kommunikation, zur kybernetischen Modellierung kognitiver Prozesse, zur Entwicklung des begrifflichen - besonders auch des mathematischen - Denkens von Kindern wird im einzelnen dargestellt, daß wir die Idee 'objektiver' Erkenntnis verwerfen müssen, solange wir streng empirisch und rational erkennen wollen. Alle Erkenntnis, alles Wissen stellt keine 'Entdeckung' einer unabhängig von uns existierenden Realität dar, sondern wird von uns erzeugt, 'konstruiert', und bleibt solange gültig als es uns zu (über-)leben hilft, als es 'viabel' ist. Daraus ergibt sich nicht nur eine dramatisch veränderte Sicht menschlicher Erkenntnis, menschlichen Lernens, Handelns und Zusammenlebens, sondern auch eine anspruchsvolle Ethik der individuellen (Über-)Lebensverantwortung
