    Abstract
    Moderne Verfahren des Information Retrieval verlangen nach aussagekräftigen und detailliert relationierten Dokumentationssprachen. Der selektive Transfer einzelner Modellierungsstrategien aus dem Bereich semantischer Technologien für die Gestaltung und Relationierung bestehender Dokumentationssprachen wird diskutiert. In Form einer Taxonomie wird ein hierarchisch strukturiertes Relationeninventar definiert, welches sowohl hinreichend allgemeine als auch zahlreiche spezifische Relationstypen enthält, die eine detaillierte und damit aussagekräftige Relationierung des Vokabulars ermöglichen. Das bringt einen Zugewinn an Übersichtlichkeit und Funktionalität. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Ansätzen und Überlegungen zur Schaffung von Relationeninventaren entwickelt der vorgestellte Vorschlag das Relationeninventar aus der Begriffsmenge eines bestehenden Gegenstandsbereichs heraus.

    Abstract
    Moderne Verfahren des Information Retrieval verlangen nach aussagekräftigen und detailliert relationierten Dokumentationssprachen. Der selektive Transfer einzelner Modellierungsstrategien aus dem Bereich semantischer Technologien für die Gestaltung und Relationierung bestehender Dokumentationssprachen wird diskutiert. Am Beispiel des Gegenstandsbereichs "Theater" der Schlagwortnormdatei wird ein hierarchisch strukturiertes Relationeninventar definiert, welches sowohl hinreichend allgemeine als auch zahlreiche spezifische Relationstypen enthält, welche eine detaillierte und damit funktionale Relationierung des Vokabulars ermöglichen. Die Relationierung des Gegenstandsbereichs wird als Ontologie im OWL-Format modelliert. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Ansätzen und Überlegungen zur Schaffung von Relationeninventaren entwickelt der vorgestellte Vorschlag das Relationeninventar aus der Begriffsmenge eines vorgegebenen Gegenstandsbereichs heraus. Das entwickelte Inventar wird als eine hierarchisch strukturierte Taxonomie gestaltet, was einen Zugewinn an Übersichtlichkeit und Funktionalität bringt.

    Abstract
    Das Buch gibt einen umfassenden Überblick über vorhandene Thesauri und Klassifikationen. Es liefert detaillierte Beschreibungen zu mehr als 150 Klassifikationen und Thesauri aus Naturwissenschaften, Technik, Wirtschaft und Patentwesen. Da gegenwärtig eine aktuelle Zusammenstellung international verfügbarer Thesauri und Klassifikationen fehlt, schließt das vorliegende Buch diese Lücke und kann somit dazu beitragen, Doppelarbeit bei der Erstellung von Thesauri und Klassifikationen zu verhindern und den intellektuellen wie kostenintensiven Aufwand zu minimieren. Zusätzlich bietet dieses Nachschlagewerk mit einem umfangreichen Index den Informationsspezialisten Unterstützung bei der Formulierung präziser Rechercheanfragen, indem es Informationen über Vorhandensein, Aufbau und Verfügbarkeit der Thesauri und Klassifikationen bereitstellt, die für die Recherche genutzt werden können. Das Buch wendet sich an alle Information Professionals, die Dokumentationssprachen aufbauen und nutzen.

Das Buch mit seiner Auswahl von über 150 Klassifikationen und Thesauri aus Naturwissenschaft, Technik, Wirtschaft und Patenwesen macht es zu einem brauchbaren Nachschlagewerk, zumal auch ein umfassender Index nach Sachgebieten, nach Datenbanken und nach Klassifikationen und Thesauri angeboten wird.     Abstract
    Mit dieser Arbeit wird untersucht, welche Möglichkeiten und Vorteile ein Wiki bei der Pflege und Weiterentwicklung eines Thesaurus bietet. Als Basis für diese Arbeit wird ein entsprechendes Wiki, der Standard-Thesaurus Wirtschaft (STW) und Einrichtungen an verschiedenen Standorten, die mit dem STW arbeiten (das sog. STW-Konsortium) herangezogen. Um die Untersuchungsergebnisse zu präsentieren und zu belegen, wird parallel dazu der Prototyp "Wikisaurus oeconomicus" entwickelt; er ist die praktische Umsetzung der hier beschriebenen Möglichkeiten und wird im Internet zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Arbeit gliedert sich in zwei wesentliche Bereiche. Zuerst wird in einem kurzen Abriss die Entwicklungsgeschichte der Dokumentationssprachen, insbesondere von Thesauri, im 20. Jhd. beschrieben. Darauf aufbauend folgt die Darstellung der Genese und der Struktur des STW sowie dessen Pflege und Weiterentwicklung. Der zweite Teil widmet sich dann dem eigentlichen Untersuchungsgegenstand: Um diesen sinnvoll vor- und darstellen zu können, erfolgt eine Einführung in die, zugegebenermaßen kurze Geschichte der WikiWelt. Dazu wird noch die Software MediaWiki, deren Möglichkeiten sowie die Theorie der Zusammenarbeit in Wikis beschrieben. Danach wird ein möglicher Einsatz von Wikitechnik bei der Pflege und Weiterentwicklung des STW beschrieben. Wie oben schon erwähnt, wird zur Präsentation der Ergebnisse im Inter-net, der Prototyp "Wikisaurus oeconomicus" entwickelt. Neben der reinen Präsentation soll so auch ein (exemplarischer) Eindruck über die Praktikabilität und Anwendbarkeit der Wiki-technik vermittelt werden.

    Abstract
    Die verstärkte Diskussion über qualitativ bessere Such- und Erschließungsmethoden im Internet führt auch dazu, dass Thesauri und Klassifikation bei Fachanbietern und im wissenschaftlich-bibliothekarischen Bereich verstärkt wieder Thema und auch Gegenstand von Projekten geworden sind. Solche Konjunkturschwankungen sind ein bekanntes Phänomen, denn schon immer haben fachlich-methodische Instrumente in Zeiten technologischer Schübe schlechte Konjunktur. Wenn die technologischen Machbarkeiten dann kritisch überdacht werden müssen und die Probleme der Qualitätssicherung ins Auge fallen, rückt das Problem der Vermittlung technologischer Verfahren mit sach- und inhaltsbezogenen Anforderungen unweigerlich wieder stärker in den Mittelpunkt des Interesses'. Meine Ausführungen richten sich vor allem auf aktuelle Probleme der Produktion und Wiedergewinnung von Informationen oder präziser: von Fachinformationen, Fragen der Qualitätssicherung und die Rolle, die Klassifikationen und Thesauri in diesem Zusammenhang spielen oder spielen könnten. Insbesondere der Aspekt der Nutzerakzeptanz wird hier stärker thematisiert. Der Punkt nettere Ansätze wird etwas eingehender am Beispiel der Vernetzung verschiedener Thesauri und Klassifikationen mittels sogenannter Cross-Konkordanzen erläutert. Im Folgenden beziehe ich mich vor allem auf die Sozialwissenschaften und insbesondere die Erziehungswissenschaft. Dies ist der fachliche Background des Fachinformationssystem Bildung, und des Deutschen Bildungsservers in deren Kontext ich mit den hier angesprochenen Problemen befasst bin

    Abstract
    Heutzutage werden neue kontrollierte Vokabularien eher selten erarbeitet. Ihre Bedeutung als unabdingbares Erschließungs- und Rechercheinstrumenten wird aus dem Bewusstsein nicht nur der Öffentlichkeit, sondern auch der Fachwelt verdrängt. Dafür gibt es verschiedene Gründe, unter anderem die Illusion der Vollständigkeit, die nach dem Thesaurus-Boom in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren entstand, und das als eine Art Allheilmittel wahrgenommene Verfahren der Automatischen Indexierung. Für manche Informationssysteme kann eine solche Vernachlässigung verhängnisvolle Konsequenzen nach sich ziehen.     Abstract
    Moderne Verfahren des Information Retrieval verlangen nach aussagekräftigen und detailliert relationierten Dokumentationssprachen. Der selektive Transfer einzelner Modellierungsstrategien aus dem Bereich semantischer Technologien für die Gestaltung und Relationierung bestehender Dokumentationssprachen wird diskutiert. Am Beispiel des Gegenstandsbereichs "Theater" der Schlagwortnormdatei wird ein hierarchisch strukturiertes Relationeninventar definiert, welches sowohl hinreichend allgemeine als auch zahlreiche spezifische Relationstypen enthält, welche eine detaillierte und damit funktionale Relationierung des Vokabulars ermöglichen. Die Relationierung des Gegenstandsbereichs wird als Ontologie im OWL-Format modelliert. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Ansätzen und Überlegungen zur Schaffung von Relationeninventaren entwickelt der vorgestellte Vorschlag das Relationeninventar aus der Begriffsmenge eines vorgegebenen Gegenstandsbereichs heraus. Das entwickelte Inventar wird als eine hierarchisch strukturierte Taxonomie gestaltet, was einen Zugewinn an Übersichtlichkeit und Funktionalität bringt.

    Abstract
    Der Thesaurus als Dokumentationssprache wird in der DIN 1463-1in seinen wesentlichen Merkmalen beschrieben. Dort wird der Thesaurus im informationswissenschaftlichen Sinne so definiert: "Ein Thesaurus im Bereich der Information und Dokumentation ist eine geordnete Zusammenstellung von Begriffen und ihren (vorwiegend natürlichsprachigen) Bezeichnungen, die in einem Dokumentationsgebiet zum Indexieren, Speichern und Wiederauffinden dient. Er ist durch folgende Merkmale gekennzeichnet: a) Begriffe und Bezeichnungen werden eindeutig aufeinander bezogen ("terminologische Kontrolle"), indem - Synonyme möglichst vollständig erfasst werden, - Homonyme und Polyseme besonders gekennzeichnet werden, - für jeden Begriff eine Bezeichnung (Vorzugsbenennung, Begriffsnummer oder Notation) festgelegt wird, die den Begriff eindeutig vertritt, b) Beziehungen zwischen Begriffen (repräsentiert durch ihre Bezeichnungen) werden dargestellt." Diese Definition wäre zu ergänzen um folgende: c) Der Thesaurus ist präskriptiv, indem er für seinen Geltungsbereich festlegt, welche begrifflichen Einheiten zur Verfügung gestellt werden und durch welche Bezeichnungen diese repräsentiert werden. Im Folgenden sollen die wichtigsten Elemente und Prinzipien von Thesauri und die Thesaurusmethodik vorgestellt werden. Dies kann in diesem Rahmen nur auf eine sehr kursorische und allgemeine Art und Weise geschehen. Außerdem beschränkt sich die Darstellung auf den Thesauruseinsatz im klassischen Bereich von Information und Dokumentation. Auf die Behandlung von Spezialproblemen oder auf besondere Thesaurusformen (z.B. mehrsprachige Thesauri) kann hier nicht eingegangen werden, ebenso auf die erweiterten Anforderungen, die an Thesauri im Kontext von Wissensrepräsentation oder Hypertext zu stellen sind. Allerdings überschneidet sich der klassische IuD-Bereich zunehmend mit erweiterten Formen (etwa im Rahmen von Internetanwendungen). Da der Thesaurus im dokumentarischen Sinn alle Grundelemente des Thesaurusprinzips in klarer Form aufweist, wird dieser Bereich für eine Einführung gewählt. Für eine intensivere Auseinandersetzung mit der Thematik wird die Lektüre von Wersig empfohlen, auf den sich auch die folgenden Ausführungen in weiten Teilen stützen. Eine weitere grundsätzliche Einführung in diesen Bereich, allerdings eher ausgerichtet auf die Spezifika des englischen Sprachraums, findet sich bei Lancaster.

    Abstract
    Es ist ein semantisches Netz für den Gegenstandsbereich Luftfahrt modelliert worden, welches Unternehmensinformationen, Organisationen, Fluglinien, Flughäfen, etc. enthält, Diese sind 10 Hauptkategorien zugeordnet worden, die untergliedert nach Facetten sind. Die Begriffe des Gegenstandsbereiches sind mit 23 unterschiedlichen Relationen verknüpft worden (Z. B.: 'hat Standort in', bietet an, 'ist Homebase von', etc). Der Schwerpunkt der Betrachtung liegt auf dem Unterschied zwischen den drei klassischen Standardrelationen und den zusätzlich eingerichteten Relationen, bezüglich ihrem Nutzen für ein effizientes Retrieval. Die angelegten Kategorien und Relationen sind sowohl für eine kognitive als auch für eine maschinelle Verarbeitung geeignet.
    Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, ein Modell für ein Informationssystems zu erstellen und die Voraussetzungen und Aspekte zu betrachten, die notwendig sind, um Einsichten in die begrifflichen Zusammenhänge des Gegenstandsbereiches Luftfahrt zu erlangen. Der Ansatz, der hier erläutert wird, plädiert für die Konstruktion einer begrifflichen Wissensstruktur in Form eines semantischen Netzes. Ausgangspunkt dieser Überlegungen ist die Auffassung, daß zwar das kontrollierte Vokabular eines Thesaurus mit seiner Verweisstruktur vielfältiges Wissen enthält, das aber aufgrund der drei klassischen Standardrelationen nur unzureichend repräsentiert und damit auch nur beschränkt zugänglich ist. Es wird erläutert, welche Vorteile eine Erweiterung der drei Thesaurusrelationen erbringen kann und in welcher Funktion die Relationen bei der Formulierung der Suchanfrage unterstützend sein können. Gezeigt wird, wie die Begriffstrukturen eines semantischen Netzes deutlicher hervortreten, wenn bei der Erstellung einer Wissensstruktur eines Gegenstandsbereiches Kategorien zugrunde gelegt werden und welche Gestaltungsprinzipien den Suchprozeß unterstützen können. Dazu werden die Voraussetzungen erörtert, die garantieren, daß komplexe Suchanfragen (erfolgreich) geleistet werden können und zu präzisen Treffermengen führen.

    Abstract
    Angesichts aktueller und voraussichtlich in naher Zukunft startender Infrastrukturprojekte der Frauen/Gender-Informationseinrichtungen einerseits und der Gender Studies andererseits, soll im Folgenden auf den Sinn und die Notwendigkeit einer gemeinsamen gendersensiblen Dokumentationssprache hingewiesen werden. Dieser Beitrag entstand im Rahmen des Masterstudiums der Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaften (MALIS) an der Technischen Hochschule Köln und verfolgt das Ziel, Vorschläge für die Erarbeitung eines Gender Thesaurus zu entwickeln.

    Abstract
    Feministische Thesauri sind Begriffsnetze der Frauen*- und Geschlechterforschung, die in der bibliothekarischen Praxis jene Lücken schließen, die konventionelle Normdateien bei der Sacherschließung relevanter Literatur hinterlassen. Mit thesaurA wurde Mitte der 1990er Jahren der erste kooperative frauen*spezifische Fachthesaurus Österreichs erstellt. Der SAR-Index der Ariadne, der Frauen*- und Geschlechterdokumentationsstelle der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek (ÖNB), ist eine lokale Weiterentwicklung. Ein Wechsel des Bibliothekssystems an der ÖNB macht eine Migration des Vokabulars erforderlich. Der Beitrag beleuchtet das Migrationsprojekt im Kontext feministischer Beschlagwortung und entwickelt Überlegungen zu kooperativen Thesaurus-Projekten weiter, die unabhängig der fachlichen Ausrichtung Relevanz entfalten können.

    Abstract
    Ein Konferenzereignis der besonderen Art fand am 18. und 19. November 2010 in Luxemburg statt. Initiiert durch das Amt für Veröffentlichungen der Europäischen Union (http://publications.europa.eu) waren Bibliothekare und Information Professionals eingeladen, um über die Zukunft mehrsprachiger kontrollierter Vokabulare in Informationssystemen und insbesondere deren Beitrag zum Semantic Web zu diskutieren. Organisiert wurde die Konferenz durch das EuroVoc-Team, das den Thesaurus der Europäischen Union bearbeitet. Die letzte EuroVoc-Konferenz fand im Jahr 2006 statt. In der Zwischenzeit ist EuroVoc zu einem ontologie-basierten Thesaurusmanagementsystem übergegangen und hat systematisch begonnen, Semantic-Web-Technologien für die Bearbeitung und Repräsentation einzusetzen und sich mit anderen Vokabularen zu vernetzen. Ein produktiver Austausch fand mit den Produzenten anderer europäischer und internationaler Vokabulare (z.B. United Nations oder FAO) sowie Vertretern aus Projekten, die an Themen über automatische Indexierung (hier insbesondere parlamentarische und rechtliche Dokumente) sowie Interoperabilitiät zwischen Vokabularen arbeiten, statt.
